  1. It is a real shame Audi can't do the right thing and admit there is an issue. If they had a recall and replaced the old faulty sensors the next time a car was in for service it would be a relatively cheap solution in my opinion. It has shaken my trust in the brand from a quality side as it is poor to have faults on newish cars, and also a customer service side when they don't correct their own mistakes. I don't think my next car will be an Audi as a result of what should be a minor problem to fix. Shame on Audi.

  2. I'd only have used a genuine OEM part if doing it myself and the cost of that is now £102.60 If I'd not got some of it back under warranty I'd be more annoyed but in reality I've only ended up paying £58 more than if I'd bought the part and done it myself. That doesn't mean that Audi aren't taking the !Removed! here but for me personally it's worked out ok going to them. I'm more annoyed that the part failed in the first place on a 4 year old car with only 27k on the clock!

  3. Last I have actually had my rear wheel arch replaced by Audi. Having complained to Audi uk they to the case up and agreed that it should not have been sold with issue. I had it done at my local Audi body shop and Audi uk were claiming the cost back from the dealership I bought it from down south. Audi uk were brilliant in fighting my corner against the dealership.

  4. Hello Shelley, Sorry it’s worked out like this for you, but as Cliff says, at least it has indeed worked out. Stress, hassle, inconvenience, out of pocket etc.etc. All Very valid reasons not to take up further battles to attempt to recoup your outlay and compensation for the above to date. In my book, it really boils down to what stress value and potential further cost implications you place on your principles. The dealer/ Audi will have far bigger guns than you or the average owner can economically stretch to and gamble with, in attempts to gain compensation. In the end, it will all boil down to ‘is it worth confronting big guns in the hope you may get some recompense’ ? Quite fairly, only you can make that decision. Whatever it is, the forum genuinely hopes it works out for you in the quickest possible time. Kind regards, Gareth.

  5. Hi Steve - are you looking for the interface that plugs into the unit in the glove box? If so, I think it's called the Audi Music Interface - it will let you play music from your phone though your stereo (MMI). There are also ones for iPods etc. I'm not sure if your bluetooth spec allows you to stream - it may only be phone call enabled. Anyway if you google anything like "Audi AMI MMI cable" you'll see the choice, I suspect something like this or this might be the best options

  7. Concurring with the above posts. I’m astounded at Audi’s behaviour completely through the ownership of my A4. It cost me £16,000 in 2019. I’ve had so many issues with it, like this ABS issue, ECU failures, I think I’ve replaced every sensor under the bonnet, AdBlue sensor failure, etc, etc. I’ve spent £9k to date and I’m currently looking at another £1.2k on having to drop the gearbox out to disassemble it to get at, wait for it, another sensor! Audi have refused to acknowledge any inherent issues with the B9. All they say is “book it in for a diagnostic” then quote me crazy prices to fix things I can do myself or others can do at half the cost. This was my first Audi, and will be my last VAG vehicle.

  8. That is a disgusting charge! I had the fault appear on the dash, quick search to see what the cause could be and think the part was 14.99 from vag parts. Changed it in less then 5 mins and no issues since. Audi dealers should be ashamed of what they charge! No wonder the showrooms are so nice, shows how much mark up they have in car sales and service charges.....

  9. @Dvy I agree with Magnet. I would definitely seek a second opinion and a another quote, I find it highly unlikely a) all of the arms need changing and b) all will be changed. Personally I would double check exactly which parts they are changing and then I'd ask for all the old ones back. FYI below is the kit if all arms were changed both sides. (It also includes tie rod ends and anti roll bar links). Good luck with it and I hope your other half enjoys the car!

  11. Your call of course David, but as said, I would certainly get another quote before committing if it were mine - that’s one heck of a lot of money.

  12. Apologies for the gripe, but the forum has recently suffered from a spate of what can be termed ‘Post and Run’ new members, who seem to think it’s perfectly acceptable to post a plea for help, and simply not return to view the help given. In a more diluted form, help is offered, but is very rarely acknowledged even via. a simple press of the Like button, leave alone a posted Thank You. The last part of the gripe is that we frequently have to ask for additional information, and this extra detail often never materialises. Please remember, everyone who posts replies do so without payment, but it certainly does cost them in time - in terms of the Moderators and Admin back up - a lot of time. So a special plea to all on here who post needing help:- please be respectful enough to acknowledge any help given, rather than simply accept it as a no-cost, no time of yours, free advice service. It’s wearing thin folks, so if you want to retain this service, please respect and acknowledge its benefits. Thank you all for reading this, and above all, agreeing to adhere to the respect that is needed to be shown. Kind regards, On behalf of the Moderators. Please note:- This request is to all members, not just new ones.

  13. To update this I had the repair done by Audi yesterday. It was just the sensor that needed replacing, no ABS issues thankfully. Total cost of the repair was £336 of which £195 was labour! Fortunately I have a 3rd party warranty which covers some of it so I'll get £176 back. That leaves me £160 out of pocket but if I'd done it myself I'd have paid £102 to buy the sensor from Audi anyway so I'm not to upset about that. Thanks all for the advice, could have been so much worse if I hadn't read this forum 👍
