  1. My father has owned a 1991 Audi 90E, since new and unfortunately is no longer able to drive. He has asked me to dispose of the vehicle for him but I have been unable to establish what the vehicle is worth. There seem to be very few for sale. The mileage is 89,000 and the vehicle has been garaged since new, with an MOT until Dec24. I have approached a couple of motor traders but they have not been interested. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated. I was trying to avoid selling on ebay.

  2. Hi unfortunately moderators have the ability to see from your account if you have viewed any replies so you can't sue him under the trade description act, furthermore if you are that short on time it beggars the thought why post?

  3. Hi the symptoms of clutch failure are simply diagnosed, take the car out get it up to temp then find a nice hill to go up and change up early so the engine is beginning to labour then slam the throttle down if the clutch is knackered the revs will rise rapidly withe no extra acceleration, I am in no doubt Audi will tell you its gone just to get the job and charge you even more money than anyone else, I have driven over a million miles in cabs and stand on me thats the best way of testing the clutch, Audi ownership is for people with deep pockets, yes they are great to drive, yes they are powerful, but you know what the parts prices dont justify the ownership, I just bought new discs and pads for My Passat and they were a bargain at £123.40 compared with the A6 which was Brembo as well at £270.80 even aftermarket its a JOKE. Steve.

  4. You didn't even look? It seems that two people wasted their time answering your questions.

  5. Id recommend a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up. Could be a dpf but could equally be a maf sensor.

  6. It could be either. Take the tension off the belt and rattle the pulleys to discover which is loose. The AC fault may not be related. By the way, you have posted two previous topics about odd noises from your car without letting us know the outcome. How about responding to the replies you received, or at least aknowledging that you have read them.

  8. Gordon. Just to add, even if the wheels were balanced when the tyres were fitted, pot holes and kerb climbing can dislodge the weights. If balancing does not solve the problem we need to investigate elsewhere. Although I had a 2 litre diesel A3 2007 until three years ago I don't really remember what the fuel consumption was. I recall it was typical for its type and not unduly thirsty, but beyond that I do not know. In any case a car's consumption always depends on how it is driven and on what roads.

  9. I imagine it is the same bonnet as the hybrid, but without the insulation. It's cheaper to make one bonnet that fits both models than it is to make two different ones.

  10. I have been using my car over the weekend and today with no problems. Radio favourites and other settings all being held and no resetting of MMI on ignition cycle. Very happy so far. I will be away for a few days later this week until next Tuesday so car will be idle during this period. Not expecting any issues with car being idle but best to be sure.
