  2. Hello Baillie, A Moderator’s view in case it helps. I think it’s understandable that the confusion has occurred due to the wording. Detail is so important, so perhaps it will help others if I rephrase this for you:- ‘Someone has previously removed the motor from my sunroof assembly. Would someone please be able to help with a part number for the motor which should be fitted?’ My suggestion:- have you tried the website of LLL Parts. Perhaps you could let us know how you get on. Kind regards, Gareth.

  3. For comparison, I have a 2021 2.0 40tsi petrol. Currently on a smidge over 30k miles. Besides one oil change at 20k I’ve never had to top up and it doesnt use oil according to the electonic oil level check.

  4. Hi it does not make sense, if you have not already got a motor why do you want to buy one, it wont matter how many part sites we suggest you wont get a part number for it if it was not fitted in the first place as they all work on VIN numbers. Steve.

  5. Well blow me! I found the issue. With the mot looming, thought I’d better get my finger out! As above, a fuse for the windscreen washer pump is not listed. Now during winter last year I removed the fuse for the rear wiper because 1/ I never use the rear wiper and 2/ if the front wipers are switched on, the rear wiper automatically operates when reverse gear id selected. As I often reverse from my drive, This can put strain on the rear wiper and blade if the rear window is frozen. anyways, I refitted the fuse (number 47) hey presto, washers are working again. Odd that there's no mention of a fuse for the windscreen washers. Hope this might be of use if somebody searches for same issue on a 2012, 8v.

  6. I think it's 8K0959591B and look's like it's identical to the one that controls the sunblind. 8K9898057 is for the bolts that hold it in.

  7. Hi Steve. I used ATE. I thought that's what Audi uses as OEM part

  8. Hi what brand of wear sensor did you use as a lot of the cheaper ones I have fitted have been like this because the little spring bit on the end where it fits to the pad is missing, if its not there thats what conducts the current so the light stays on. Steve.

  10. As you see Brian - ‘….can be up to….’. This is the catch all statement I was referring to. I think yours is unusual and Gary’s is normal. It’s unreasonable to expect to have to top up with a litre of oil every 3K miles. Do you not want to share its service history with us Brian? Kind regards, Gareth.

  11. Trouble is I had no idea this software update even existed until I read the email I received after I'd got home from dropping it off this morning 😐 The lack of information on-line suggests that this is a relatively new thing and not being mechanically minded I wouldn't know the implications of telling them not to do it anyway, hence why I posted on here as soon as I read the email. Re your last point nothing would surprise me but there's zero chance Audi or anyone else will be flogging me an electric car any time soon.

  12. Hi like one of the posts on that site said once done it is irretrievably there, it might have been an idea to have posted a couple of days ago, personally I have never had any success with any Audi problem curing update, I have a theory that they are trying hard to limit the lifespan of the later diesel models to try and upgrade the possibility of electric car sales as they just are not selling, the other day I saw an 2022 Etron GT for sale second hand 36k on the clock £40,000, makes you wonder, what price was that new they seem to be a four wheeled Stockmarket crash. Steve.

  15. Welcome Brian, How much oil are you adding every 5000kms? What mileage has the car done to date? Have you owned it from new, and has it always used the same quantity of oil? Kind regards, Gareth. p.s. Where is Ork?

  16. 1 week on - update Hi everyone, I carried out the fix - full reset to factory settings one week ago and set up the system again from scratch and I have had no problems with losing settings or favourites. Mick, I have set myself up as the Key User and have had no major issues. During the reset I used the code on the credit card they give you as part of the set up. I did have a small issue on Wednesday night driving home from class when the screen went blank and as it reloaded I noticed it tried to go back to default settings. I immediately hit the soft reset button and it all loaded back up perfectly. And have had no problems since. The only slight issue I have is that my phone does not automatically connect with the car first thing in the morning. I have to connect it manually and then it connects automatically for the rest of the day. I can live with that. thanks

  17. Robert. I believe the car will warn you when Adblue needs to be topped up. Do look through this forum's history for knowledge of the potential Adblue problems you may face in the future, and how to resolve them. You may get the impression there that Adblue is a disaster waiting to happen, and indeed it can be if left to its own devices, but with the right care it can be a trouble-free system.

  18. Great news Mick! I logged into my profile and this Wednesday will be two weeks since the reset and everything has been stable. So I’m chuffed that the reset is working! Hope it continues to work for everyone else! Let me know if anyone isn’t sure on what to do and I’ll try note it down as best as I can remember 😊
