  1. I'm not 100% sure, but my guess would be that it is located within HVAC control unit. I think it is fed through the tiny grill embedded in the fascia of the unit. Others will surely correct me if I'm wrong.

  3. Apologies for the gripe, but the forum has recently suffered from a spate of what can be termed ‘Post and Run’ new members, who seem to think it’s perfectly acceptable to post a plea for help, and simply not return to view the help given. In a more diluted form, help is offered, but is very rarely acknowledged even via. a simple press of the Like button, leave alone a posted Thank You. The last part of the gripe is that we frequently have to ask for additional information, and this extra detail often never materialises. Please remember, everyone who posts replies do so without payment, but it certainly does cost them in time - in terms of the Moderators and Admin back up - a lot of time. So a special plea to all on here who post needing help:- please be respectful enough to acknowledge any help given, rather than simply accept it as a no-cost, no time of yours, free advice service. It’s wearing thin folks, so if you want to retain this service, please respect and acknowledge its benefits. Thank you all for reading this, and above all, agreeing to adhere to the respect that is needed to be shown. Kind regards, On behalf of the Moderators. Please note:- This request is to all members, not just new ones.

  4. I've owned 9 cars over the years (some simultaneously) and while my Mazda MX-5 Miata '99 never had a single issue, my ownership was only 3 fun years. My Audi TT QR '03 was also owned for about 3 years and while it had some electrical quirks, they were covered under warranty. But my Audi A3 '07? Phenomenal reliability across 17 years. I put a large portion of mileage on it for the first 2 years of ownership when I had to commute 50 miles each way, every work day. After that, I either worked remotely or took public transportation to work, which helped offset the initial high yearly mileage. The only "performance" mod I've done was a rear sub-frame brace, which helps keep the car level in sharp turns. It's like it's on rails and reminds me of my former TTQR. Cosmetically I replaced the front grille (changed chrome to black) tail lights with amber turn signals, CANBUS compatible LED bulbs for rear turn signals, fog light switch, upgraded rims, and converted the single DIN center panel to double DIN with a Kenwood LED display head unit equipped with two USB sockets (one in glove box, one on side of center console). I was tempted to upgrade to an A5 when it came out, but it was too expensive for my blood. I eventually planned to buy a used one some years later, but my A3 won't quit. And I enjoy having 5 doors. It's like a good, dependable friend. I will be heartbroken on the day I finally give it up (when I can afford an S6 avant!).

  5. As the title says, I've found this website which should help c7 owners find their fuseboxes and what each fuse is for. http://knigaproavto.ru/shemy/en/audi/a6/28-audi-a6-c7-2012-fuse-box-diagram.html Hope it's useful :) Cheers Steve

  6. All you need is a Torx 20 bit, a flat blade or trim removal tool and some brute force!! Top tip is to wind the window down to give you easier access when removing the door card First you need to remove the aluminium (or whatever colour) trim by the door handle using the flat blade to reveal the two hidden screws Back of removed trim so you can see the clips. Then undo the screw below the door handle. Next is to the flat blade at the bottom and start levering towards you. Once you can get your hands in simppy work your way around to the top. Don't be afraid to use a bit of brute force Pic of the back of the door card showing the various clips Then pull the door car up and start unclipping the plugs and door handle Top is the speaker cable Unclip the Yellow clip for the door handle cable Finally undo the connector that goes into the door control module at the bottom (bottom of the pic) Fitting is reversal of removal!! Clip the plugs and door handle cable back in Then lift the door card back onto the lip at the top; having the window down as far is goes makes this step a little easier! Put the screws in Tap the clips back into place Job done Hope this helps Rhys on Audi-sport.net
