  1. Hello Rob, Sorry to hear of your problem. ‘No valves etc. damaged….’. The best way to confirm that is to get a compression test carried out on that bank to hopefully confirm your belief. That has to be your starting point for considering the car’s future. Kind regards, Gareth.

  2. Hi Gents just thought I would throw this out there, we seem to get more people joining who now own fully electric cars, without being offensive in any way I can't see any benefit to them if they have a problem, I might be wrong but is there anyone on this site that fully understands their complexities given that Audi franchises that have all the latest tech have problems fixing the later conventional cars, its a worrying future. Steve.

  3. The problem with the loss of radio stations after setting them as favourites only seems to be resolvable at the moment by doing a reset back to factory setting on the MMI console. Did this on both my new vehicles (Q3 and A1) in september and they have been absolutely OK since. Had the same problem with the dash cams on both my vehicles, they wouldn't initially connect to the UTR app on the phone. Take your phone into your car and with the ignition on open the WifI settings on the phone and you should see AUDIUTR_?????? as an availble network. Select this network and enter the default password 123456. You should now be connected. Your dashcams are probable V2 so the app will update itself to V2, then the WiFi network name (SSID) for the UTR on your phone will have changed to AUDIUTR2_?????? Best of luck.

  4. Hi if you are selling the car how would you feel as a new owner when the belt goes bang a couple of months later, which it will, as Gareth pointed out this site is littered with stories of no milage cars that have thrown the belt at the five year marker, sold as seen with a recent cam belt change sounds far more alluring than just sold as seen, it might actually get you more money on the sale. Steve.

  10. Hi Guys I've just received an email from Audi Customer Services in which they state :- We have been contacted by Audi UK who have advised a system fix will be released on 25 January 2025 which will repair the faults you are experiencing. Hope this helps with whatever decisions you make regarding keeping/ rejecting your cars.

  12. Gutted. My beloved 4.2 V8 has just skipped a tooth due to the famous tensioner problem. Thankfully i wasn't 'driving' it when it happened but it's misfiring on all 4 cylinders on the driver's side but no valves etc have been damaged as far as i can tell. I checked plugs and coils but issue remains on that side and after inspection by a local garage it's fairly conclusive what the issue is. What would you do? Future resoration project or call it a day? The quote was eyewatering! cheers!
