  2. Put new a new oil pressure sensor in last night which seems to have fixed the problem. I also noticed my intake wasn't sitting properly on the turbo and was loose. Re-fitted everything and now I have no codes and the car isn't running lean anymore. thanks everyone for your help!

  3. Why can't the dealer get the electronic print out? Make sure there's proof of cambelt and water pump change and gearbox oil service. I got an electronic print out for my ford Kuga recently and it had 30k miles missed off it! Even though it's only been serviced at midnight dealer from new. Luckily my Kuga still has a service book and I've got the invoices. The problem is now with GDPR it's harder to see the proof of work done

  4. I feel I must echo Gareth's caution. Buying a car without seeing its service history first, is like buying the car without looking at it first or test driving it. Trusting the dealer's word is risky in the field of car buying. That's not to say all dealers are shady characters, but there are enough of them in the market to make me very wary.

  5. Hello Martin, OK, once you register the car in your name then it’s yours - even if the car turns out not to have any, or FSH. I guess you are assured by the seller that ‘the service history is there will the dealer’. If so, why cannot the seller obtain evidence of that? In addition, I’ve not failed to get service computerised information from main dealers for a vehicle that I’m interested in buying, even though I had not bought it at that stage. GDPR:- The main dealer will understandably not release details of the previous owners names and addresses, but should be able to confirm what services it’s had at what mileages and dates. Of course, your call. Kind regards, Gareth. p.s. You may be getting the cambelt and water pump renewed (with aftermarket parts) even if it might previously been replaced using Audi parts. Still…..

  7. Your choice of course, but a little pot of paint would cost far less than a new piece of glass. Do let us know the outcome of whatever decision you make.

  8. One of the experts here will tell you that unless such work is done properly the engine will run hot and destroy itself. That would be far more expensive than replacing the EGR and DPF.

  9. How did you check the battery? A simple voltage test will tell you nothing about the real condition of the battery. It needs a deep discharge test, (i.e. a load of more than 200 amps rather than the few milliamps of a multimeter,) to simulate real conditions and reveal internal faults. If your battery is original there is a fair chance it is defective and responsible for the faults you noted.

  11. Hello Martin, To quote you ‘..service history is No1 thing I look for’ , yet you say you have committed to buy this car without sight of the service history. It's surprising how often FSH can disappear into the ether once the buyer has committed to purchase.

  12. Wire breakage is common within that rubber bellows, usually on the driver's door as that gets the most use. Search the forum for other instances. Be glad it is only the speaker affected, it's often the door lock or the window.

  13. At a guess It could be an injection issue or issue with an injection pump. The later needs coding to the car if you source a replacement.
