  1. Credited to Frank Montesinos: "Figured I'd post this in case it helps someone else. If you've had what sounds like a buzzy/blown center speaker on the dash, it might just be the grille vibrating. It was really bad with loud phone calls. I just pulled the grill/vent trim piece and added small, thin felt pads. I first just did it mostly around the speaker, but still had some minor buzzing, so I went back and added more. For reference, this is a 2013 A6 3.0T with the Bose system."

  2. Hi Terry yes the OBDEleven is a first class tool for the average Diyer and at around £100 with a bundle of tokens it will save you a fortune in the long run, you can code pretty much anything on the car that you have replaced, read and clear faults, in fact it will pay for itself a thousand times during your ownership and if you dont quite understand the codes come back here, WIN,WIN. You can even reset your rear handbrake perimeters. Steve.

  3. Hi its probably the EGR valve is knackered thats what kills the turbo and will keep blocking the DPF as there is no real control over the amount of exhaust gas the unit allows in so it blocks the DPF which in turn clogs the variable vane side of the turbo, all turbo diesels work on the same principle that everything has to be working properly, if one part of that process breaks down it affects the other two. Steve.

  4. Hi dont worry about yesterday its an Audi and sooner rather than later it will put a light on, to get the answer you will need a decent diagnostic platform like OBDEleven to find out what's wrong, the final analysis is that you will have to use your spanners and acquire a fair range of male and female torx bits in 1/4 drive and 3/8 drive as well as some hose clip pliers large/small, its all fun. Steve.

  5. Consider that if gadgets like this, and also metal pellets in the fuel tank to improve economy, magic oils that improve economy, magnets on the water pipe to prevent scale, were as cheap and effective as the suppliers claim, then they would be fitted as standard in the factory. That fact that such things are not ready fitted is because they either do not work, or any advantages are outweighed by disadvantages such as premature failure.

  6. Another option is local metal fabricators. Here's some I've found in Lancashire: https://www.brimetlancashire.co.uk/?gad_source=1 https://kneesengineering.co.uk/fabrication/?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA3ZC6BhBaEiwAeqfvyl9kLQwYi2lhHPMqLibi0BElkq3-qbtxFgr1NTnzzuVNYdigRVONChoC_NUQAvD_BwE https://rpfabs.co.uk/services/ And let's not forget Motorsport specialists as they often have to fabricate all sorts: https://www.swmotorsports.uk/ https://www.elitefabrications.co.uk/ Hope one of these can help 🙂

  7. I think you’re looking at the sticker in the boot well, or the inside of your handbook, for the code 9G8 to have any chance. Not that it worked out for us, even having that code.
