  1. If that was a recent purchase from a dealer take it back and get him to sort it out at no cost to you. If that is not an option then the obvious problem is the battery, hence the low voltage warnings. If your garage test was done with a simple volt meter it will not have revealed internal battery faults. I suggest in that case you get the battery professionally tested elsewhere. That is not to say the battery is certainly the cause of the problem, but until you eliminate the battery as a cause it is pointless to look for other faults.

  2. Dave. It might as simple as the steering wheel rubbing lightly on the cowling around the column. If the noise stops when you bend the cowling in a little you have found the cause. A trace of silicone oil should help. On the other hand the noise may be from the steering column bushes that are a lot more difficult to access.

  5. That's interesting, as I have spent nearly 12 months looking, reviewing, you-tubing, e-baying & visiting Audi main dealers etc, for new or second hand alloys for my S7. The biggest problem I had was the size of the S7 break calipers and finding alloys that I liked and that offered the caliper clearance. They are standard brakes, but their size certainly limited the wheels I could consider. The wheel offset is crucial and I've ended up with TSW Chicane 20" x 10J alloys which have a very slight concave and sit within the arches. They have an offset of ET25 and I'm planning to fit 275/35 to the front and 285/35 to the back, but the upgrade isn't finished yet. I tried a part worn 265/35 on the front, but it looked too small. Anyway, I wish you well with your alloy wheel upgrade.

  7. It does sound more like it’s rubbing, will have a good look tomorrow and see if some silicone grease can solve it! Thanks for the reply!

  9. Welcome Gerry, and thanks for joining. We take it you are not investing in a genuine Audi one then! You may find your number against the VIN on LLL Parts website. Of course, Audi and TPS would have the answer but… What is wrong with yours Gerry that leads you to need a ‘Made in China’ new one? Why not get yours repaired at a localish specialist? Where did you intend to get your replacement from? Kind regards, Gareth.

  10. Apologies for the gripe, but the forum has recently suffered from a spate of what can be termed ‘Post and Run’ new members, who seem to think it’s perfectly acceptable to post a plea for help, and simply not return to view the help given. In a more diluted form, help is offered, but is very rarely acknowledged even via. a simple press of the Like button, leave alone a posted Thank You. The last part of the gripe is that we frequently have to ask for additional information, and this extra detail often never materialises. Please remember, everyone who posts replies do so without payment, but it certainly does cost them in time - in terms of the Moderators and Admin back up - a lot of time. So a special plea to all on here who post needing help:- please be respectful enough to acknowledge any help given, rather than simply accept it as a no-cost, no time of yours, free advice service. It’s wearing thin folks, so if you want to retain this service, please respect and acknowledge its benefits. Thank you all for reading this, and above all, agreeing to adhere to the respect that is needed to be shown. Kind regards, On behalf of the Moderators. Please note:- This request is to all members, not just new ones.
