Took delivery of my Q3 40tfsi Quattro automatic having selected every single option available. But despite being a total replacement for my previous Q3, it could not handle snow and therefore the two hills to my house …… all down to tyres. The car came with Goodyear F1 asymmetrical series 3, so after 600 miles tyres fully replaced by Audi to Michelin cross climate series 2 and the difference was incredible and the car performs exactly as it should.
Simple answer: cheap, cheap, cheap. Audi have abandoned all but the pretence of quality in recent years.
Be glad it is only cupholders that are absent; other buyers are finding their hybrid cars don't actually run after less than a year, pointing to a systemic lapse in standards in the company's efforts to reduce costs.
The problem is that as new technology arrives the prices for used EVs drop. EVs are like iPhone in this respect. If only the government would encourage a halfway measure like the hybrid cars I think this would help us move away from ICE cars. EVs are only a stop gap until something else comes along.
Unfortunately it wasnt printed on every reservoir that it was fitted in but this may be year dependent. Shining a torch thru the empty reservoir bottle while looking inside is a good way of checking for one also if in doubt.
below photo is from a T6 with nothing on bottle as a idea where to look
