  1. You were right Steve, it was the electrics in the end. The wiring loom underneath the ECU had been worked on previously but unfortunately not to a great standard. As such the current was leaking and not sufficient to drive the motor under strain. Fortunately I managed to find an outstanding auto electrician 👍 Thanks for your help

  3. I think the majority are impressed with it especially in the a6 . To get the most out of it just make sure the source is good and also the 3d surround option is turned off . A lot of forums mention that when this option is on it hinders the quality . I certainly wouldn’t let it stop from not buying a car I like .

  4. Any good to you Clint? p.s. I’ve un-marked this as ‘Solution’ since it still remains a bit unclear. Kind regards, Gareth.

  5. Just curious , managed to track down my issues , its corrosion where the live cables, splice around the rear fuse box, check the 2 relays, one will probably not have a live feed to it.

  8. Harvey. 1/ I'd be concerned about any part of the suspension being misaligned whether through corrosion or crash damage. Does the car have a recent MOT? 2/ I can't help with the fault codes. 3/ There is bound to be steam from the exhaust in cold weather on start up, and if it disappears once the engine and exhaust are fully warmed up then all well and good. What does the vendor have to say about the AA report?

  9. Hi Roshan, Did you manage to get an answer to this? My understanding of diesel leak-off tests is that they are not about the actual volume of diesel in the bottles but how quickly it fills up, so it wouldn't be possible to comment with a picture without a timeframe (mind you, I don't know the answer). The symptoms you describe sound like bad injectors, though. I assume you are getting a warning light? Do you have a diagnostic tool, ideally VCDS? Live data can tell you what the injector deviation is of all 4 and likely give you the bad injector (a rule of thumb is if the deviation is above 1, then the injector is going bad).
