  1. Can’t believe that we’ve all now got the missing DAB radio stations back working I don’t understand what’s gone on since we all started to contact Audi and share and communicate and on this forum starting on the 4th April the involvement from everyone has been incredible and hopefully we’ve now got a long term resolution of the missing channels being restored Thanks to everyone involved

  4. I urge everyone to scroll up to the top of the station list and hit ‘Update Station List’… I’ve just tried this and ALL THE D1 & SDL STATIONS ARE WORKING AGAIN!!!

  5. As I see it, the issue will come down to whether the DAB+ decoding is done in firmware or whether it's done in a dedicated chip. If it's firmware then you'd think it would be relatively easy to update. If it's a dedicated chip, it would need to be replaced i.e. radio removed and disassembled, chip desoldered and removed, new chip installed, etc. We'd better hope it's firmware only.

  6. I've made an enquiry of a well known supplier of VW/Audi audio system upgrades. Their reply was - So it very much looks as if we are all stuck with no DAB+ unless Audi come up with a hardware upgrade.

  7. In a word, yes. The battery does indeed need to be coded to the car. See this for an explanation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJAScg6JrYI

  9. Hello all, For the past 2 weeks I have been trying the "update all stations" every few days to no avail. After reading the recent posts today, I have done another "update stations" (very top of radio station list screen) and all the D1 National stations are working in DAB. Hopefully the issue will not appear again.

  10. I think in order to understand what has been going on, we must accept that this hasn’t been a DAB+ issue. As I had previously thought and now proved by an above member who has contacted Global Radio, Radio X for one, has been DAB+ for years. Also, it would be rather a coincidence for all stations, from different media companies, Global, Bauer etc to have swapped to DAB+ on the same date, this problem has affected ALL stations broadcasting on D1 & SDL. I’ve little understanding of it all further to this but would be very interested if we ever get to the bottom of what has been happening to stop our MMI systems picking up these signals.

  12. Yep, someone on reddit replied to me to say theirs was working, popped out to the car and for now it seems to be back. I think we do need an explanation and advice on what to expect going forward...

  13. Progress, of sorts..... using the second video above (thanks Alpha Omega) and the purchased tools, I successfully, eventually, gained access to the rear of the MMI. The cables are very short and a couple have to be unclipped to get to the back. Plugged in a generic GPS aerial off ebay (less the £5.00!!) and it all started working, 9/10 satellies received... happy me .. or so I thought...... I couldn't work out/see any way to mount the aerial near the windscreen, so simply placed it on top of the MMI. Then had some "fun" getting it all back together..... there is VERY little room and the numerous cables conspire to prevent easy access/movement ... but got there eventually. Test drove it and it was VERY erratic, quick check and only 3/4 satellites... so obviously on top of the MMI is useless. Another days work I guess trying to find a better place/way, but at least I know how to gain access. To add to my woes, the "safety systems" warning is now illuminated... I wonder if the repeated moving of the seat and kneeling on it to try and get a torch/eyesight into the MMI area has damaged something, a very quick look doesn't show any loose connections, again something for another day ... ......at 72 my arthiritus, bad back, eyesight and patience have all run short for today !
