  1. Hi Rob, Congratulations on your purchase, sounds a like a nice little project to work on - any pics?
  2. How did you get on over the weekend Stephen?
  3. Is it a standard cat or a sports one? When you say you have a sports exhaust is this just the cat back part or the whole thing?
  4. You could try VAS Works in Holton Heath: http://www.vasworks.co.uk/vw-audi-specialists.php They're a Revo dealer
  5. Is it worse when it's cold? The brushes in the motor can get stuck. Might be worth removing the driver's side trim and giving it a tap to see if it frees up?
  6. Fairly common issue to be honest, I'm sure you'll be able to sort it fairly easily. Do you know where the remap is from?
  7. Have a read of this: http://www.hypermiler.co.uk/dpf-diesel-particulate-filter/will-my-car-fail-its-mot-if-i-have-the-dpf-diesel-particulate-filter-removed-or-gutted Looks like at the moment they can only issue an advisory if it looks like it's been cut open, but apparently they're looking to change it and test for it.
  8. Agree with Jonathan, well worth having a go at cleaning it first!
  9. Hi Stephen welcome! Looks really smart - what little issues have you got to sort out?
  10. Let us know how you get on - hope it doesn't require too much cutting
  11. There are two listed on Euro Car Parts and looks like it's either green or black: http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Audi_A3_1.6_2006/p/car-parts/fuel-and-engine-management/engine-parts/engine-management-switches/
  12. The 4 way joystick could just be electric lumbar? Usually they don't have manual and electric adjustment for the seat itself it's usually one or the other.
  13. I would probably speak to an Audi tuning specialist - where are you based?
  14. You will be fine as long as you get it done by someone reputable
  15. Not fitted any myself but I can't see it being much more challenging than anything else - it should be the same principle if you've done it before?
  16. The UK version of My Audi is here: https://my.audi.com/content/gb/myaudi/en/home.html
  17. You'll have to chat with your dealer again I'm afraid Graham, but if you're order is as yet unsigned I assume you will still be able to alter it? Of course you should not be paying extra for cruise if it is now a standard feature!
  18. I guess it makes sense if the old one has gone and you're planning to mod it anyway, though you might need the car mapped to deal with the more powerful pump?
  19. If it's brand new and already out of date I would contact your Audi dealer to see if they can do a free of charge update. As far as I'm concerned a brand new car should always come with the latest updates installed!
  20. Oh dear Kate I'm sorry to hear about another A5 catching fire. Glad no one was hurt though that's the main thing! Sadly, you're not the first person to report this on our forums, have a look through and add yourself to this thread as it's good to keep a tally of how many people have been affected: http://www.audiownersclub.com/forums/topic/4607-a5-fire/?page=1 Did you manage to get any photos of it whilst it was on fire?
  21. Could be something inside the cluster that's come lose etc but you would need to take it apart to find out and it will be quite fiddly inside. Easiest solution is probably to replace but then you have to think about mileage correction etc.
  22. Amazing what a difference polishing makes! As you say if you swap the door there won't be much noticeable damage left! With regards to the seats they look great. When you say electric adjustment - what part is electric and how are you adjusting them now? I would think the electric seats would be easier to wire up than the heated part as you will likely need the switches and relays etc for the heated seats and it won't be that simple.
  23. Yes probably sounds like the best idea to let a specialist take a look. That's definitely an issue with buying cars that have "unknown" remaps on them. You could always get a Revo map on it instead?
  24. Crazy difference - you would like to think Audi technicians know what they're looking at but sometimes you do have to wonder!
  25. Worth having a look on Audi's site here: https://www.audi.co.uk/owners-area/servicing-maintenance-mot/fixed-price-services.html#/fixPrice?id=8&serviceCode=SERMAJ If you click the link to the "comparison table" it explains the differences for you. I'm sure you're itching for Saturday to come round now!
