  1. Sorry Steve completely missed that on the Amazon link I guess the guy is making a nice little bit from the Amazon sales but obviously people are buying them. Definitely a strange thing for Audi to do - not including a dipstick. Having the digital readout is OK, but definitely good to have the manual check as well.
  2. Mark, if it's the original from 2008 then it's doing well at 8 years old. Worth getting that tested anyway as at 8 years old I doubt it's got long left?
  3. 25mpg? Is it petrol or diesel? The only reason I ask is that 25 mpg isn't that bad for a petrol v6?
  4. Yes, the weather is meant to get a bit better this week which is good. How is the 3.0tdi on fuel?
  5. What's the running issue? I used to run superchips maps on a Focus ST I had a few years ago. Always found them to be really good maps. The extra torque did start eating my clutch eventually though!
  6. Let us know how you get on with the cable
  7. Wheel balancing issue?
  8. Hi Farrukh, welcome to AOC Any pics of the car?
  9. What did you have before?
  10. Hi Simon, sorry to hear you've been having issues. If the car is running long life service intervals and oil. then it is designed to burn a little. It's around 1 litre per thousand miles - does that sounds about right? Also, you mentioned they found a small leak when working on it last time - did they rectify this?
  11. To be fair that price from an Audi dealer doesn't sound too bad at all. In all honesty for the small difference I'd be tempted to go for that. If you keep your car in good condition you shouldn't really have anything they can pick on come MOT time.
  12. Do you have a part number and cost?
  13. Makes sense to me Steve. Thanks for posting the info on the solution you've found. I think there was another member asking about it the other day too!
  14. Hi Dave, welcome to the site Bit of a change from the mitsubishi then, and certainly a lot more modern! Any pics of the Audi and your other cars/bike out of interest?
  15. Hi Mal, welcome Sounds like you picked up a nice example with just a few bits to sort out. Any car of that age is going to need a few bits doing now but it sounds like your list isn't too long which is good! Yes, VAGCOM is a good investment and should help with the xenon issue. See page 82 of this manual reference the ski hatch: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3628815/Audi%20A4_2008_Owners%20Manual.pdf I suspect you have a piece missing or broken if it doesn't open easily.
  16. Get the part number off yours and look for an identical one on ebay. Will likely then need an auto electrician or an Audi specialist to code it to the car for you though.
  17. When's usually the first time you get the roof down?
  18. Would be worth trying to get it plugged in as you suggested and see if there are any error codes thrown up. Do you get any beeps (like a long error beep) when you first engage reverse?
  19. Sorry, I hadn't heard of Bentley manuals - you learn something everyday as they say. That looks far more comprehensive than something like a Haynes manual I assume? Found this on another forum - may be of help: http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?2162078-Help!-01165-Throttle-Body-Module-Control-Limit-Not-Reached
  20. Nice, a few bits then. Changing to coilovers soon? Has it been mapped?
  21. Hi Matt, welcome! Nice S3, any mods? Looks lowered?
  22. Rear parking sensors could just be a faulty sensor. There is a way of listening to each sensor to see if they make a clicking/pulsing noise when in use. If one doesn't then it's a faulty sensor.
  23. Cool, would be interested to hear if you find a solution!
  24. Hi Andy have you scanned with VAGCOM to see if it shows any error codes?
  25. Am I missing something with the Bentley reference or is that another car you have?
