  1. Hi Vik - welcome to the club! I bet you're struggling to sleep at the moment while you wait for the car :P What was your Dad's car that you were driving?
  2. I was about to say starter motor but it looks like you've already covered that as it's a common problem with those engines....
  3. No worries! :)
  4. Sounds like you're getting somewhere! B)
  5. Hmmm I must say I'm pretty stumped it sounds like you have tried everything obvious!
  6. Not sure if it would cause an overboost to be honest but any air leaking from any boost pipes could definitely cause limp mode
  7. Fred, from what I've heard, it's simply a case of finding a good enough adhesive/glue and sticking it again :(
  8. Any luck on the boost pipes?
  9. If you are leaking air going into the intercooler then yes that is effectively a boost leak and it could definitely cause limp mode
  10. I think the AMI port would be in the roof of the glove box if you had it?
  11. If it's the LED one I'm thinking of you have to change the whole bar and you get it from Audi.
  12. Great news Nick :) Is the car OK?
  13. Not sure if yours still has the ignition amplifier if so it could be that. Also, I've even seen reports before of misfires caused by boost pipes that have become disconnected.
  14. Hi Arron welcome to the club! Post some pics of your S3 up when you get a minute :)
  15. Keeping my fingers crossed for you! Must be so frustrating with it going into limp mode all the time! Let us know how you get on :)
  16. Sounds good, hope all goes well! Looking forward to seeing some pics :)
  17. I must admit I'm usually happy to travel to get the perfect car I'm looking for. I once made a 425 mile round trip for a car :D
  18. Wow sounds like your uncle wanted to get rid of the A3 but it's never a bad thing to get given a car - I'm sure you can fix it :) The first code in your list is P2540 - Low Pressure Fuel System Sensor Circuit Range/Performance It sounds like at least a couple of your issues could be related to the fuel pump so I'd probably get that sorted first and then see where you're at. I read that someone managed to fix a similar issue with the same code by replacing the low pressure sensor.
  19. Yes I bet that's going to make it just a tad loud!
  20. Got a link to it? The 2.0 TFSI is a nice engine and personally would probably be my pick of the A3s thanks to similar performance to the V6 in higher powered versions and much better running costs. They're also easily tune-able where the V6 is not. Agreed they don't sound anywhere near as nice though :(
  21. Mark, from what I've read I believe it's all related. The sensor is located on your windscreen in front of the rear view mirror. Some people have reported disconnecting the battery for a few minutes will cure the problem though not sure if the problem will resurface. It could also be worth cleaning the contacts on the sensor too. Let us know how you get on :)
  22. Must have been a terrifying ordeal for them. At least they're ok though that's more important than anything else :)
  23. I'm sure they do I assume you are on good terms with your neighbours then! :P
  24. Some kind of immobiliser fault?
  25. Hi Nick, Sorry to hear this. Hope they catch the robbing bar stewards that took it. Did they get the keys?
