  1. Reports I've seen suggest the following: 1.4 TFSI manual - around 47mpg (45mpg COD) 1.4 TFSI S Tronic - around 41 mpg (44mpg COD) 1.6 TDI manual - around 57 mpg 1.6 TDI S Tronic - 51 - 54 mpg Also bear in mind, not sure if the 1.6 TDI is part of the VW emissions scandal (it may well be) but if it is the software fix may end up changing these figures do the worse. My pick of the bunch would probably be the manual 1.4 TFSI though I'm not really a diesel fan if I'm honest!
  2. Shouldn't sound like a diesel what sort of mileage has it covered and has it been looked after?
  3. Could be the various flaps behind the dash that control airflow?
  4. I would probably get new ones to be honest if they are the problem. You can buy injector cleaner that goes in the fuel but often the effects are fairly minimal. Could be worth a try though as it's usually cheap. You could also get similar or even better results from running a few tanks of a premium fuel and taking it for a good blast too.
  5. My guess would be nothing too major - could be fuel pump related? Let us know what it is once you have found out from the garage :)
  6. That code throws up the following results so that's where I'd start: P2075 IMT (Intake Manifold Tuning) Valve Pos Sensor/Switch Circ The 2.4 is a nice smooth engine but not all that powerful when you consider the size of the car....
  7. Injectors is definitely a possibility, as is other parts of the fuel delivery system such as the fuel pump relay and fuel pump itself...
  8. Steve, looks like you may be along the right lines with an ABS sensor....
  9. Good results Matt!
  10. Let us know how you get on. I'm guessing you may have to wait for first frost although with the cold mornings lately it may help with the condensation too...
  11. Yes, I'm not sure if the fan that OP was referring to was DPF regeneration or not...
  12. Hi Ric, if you look in the brochure it states the following: Heated windscreen – heated windscreen in insulating/acoustic glass, facilitates rapid defrosting and provides a condensation-free windscreen. Controlled via a button on the air conditioning controls; additionally the windscreen's reflective coating reduces the windshield heating the interior. Does not include clear section for toll passes However, when I've looked at photos of the Q7 air con controls (unless the car I've looked at doesn't have it fitted seeing as it is optional) I can't see a standalone button. Perhaps it comes on with the "max demist" button?
  13. Hi Dave, If it were mine I'd be inclined to remove the screen from your car as the part number will likely be on a sticker on the back. Once you have the part number A5 screens seem to go for £60 to £100 on ebay so I would then just order a replacement.
  14. Isn't that DPF regeneration you're referring to?
  15. First I'd clean it all up and see if it's still leaking fresh oil. Have you checked the oil level to see if it's over or under filled?
  16. Being totally honest it's probably far easier and less hassle to sell yours and buy the 1.8t. It will probably cost you less too as if you can get a decent price for yours there will probably be a minimal difference in the price of the car.
  17. Sounds like it's going into limp mode it would be helpful to get the car scanned and see if it's throwing up any error codes? That will point you in the right direction.
  18. I read somewhere that DEF means that the cluster has an internal memory fault and needs repair or replacement..... Could be causing all the other lights too?
  19. 00665 - Boost Pressure Regulation: Control Range Not Reached Possible Causes: - Hoses/Pipes no fitted correctly, disconnected or leaking - Charger Pressure Control defective - Faulty turbo (hopefully you can ignore this one but you never know) - Faulty Diverter Valve Possible fixes: - Check all hoses and pipes are connected correctly - Check/replace/clean Charge Pressure Control - Check Turbo again - Check Diverter Valve 00125 - Trigger for On Board Diagnostic Lamp; Malfunction
  20. No worries glad you managed to get it all sorted! :)
  21. What about the actual wiper stalk that controls it? They can go faulty...
  22. Ad blue isn't all that bad as it only needs refilling about once a year depending on how many miles you cover. The Focus ST is quite a fun car actually I owned one for a couple of years a while back too :)
  23. It could be something to do with fuel delivery... Check the fuel filter, fuel relay, fuel pump, injectors. Probably start with the fuel filter as that's easiest
  24. Do you still have a whistle sound as that could point to air escaping somewhere and loss of boost pressure?
  25. Hi Wesley, No one knows what the official fix will be yet but it's likely to be software. It's either that or ad blue tanks but the cost to VW and inconvenience to customers will likely prevent that. The problem is that if it's a software update no one knows how much of an impact it will have on MPG/performance. Surely if the car was able to have software that allowed it to pass emissions whilst retaining the same performance and mpg they would have never bothered with the "cheat device" in the first place.
