  1. Could you give us a bit more of an idea as to what area it's leaking from. I'm assuming it's definitely water and not oil?
  2. What sort of trim level are you going for? To be honest with you if you're going for an almost new one you may end up with a better deal on a new one thanks to dealer deposit contributions etc?
  3. Very nice indeed :) Who did your remap?
  4. Let us know how you get on. Away anywhere nice at the moment?
  5. From what I've seen the flap motor is the most common cause of this so it's probably where I'd be looking first.
  6. How's it going now? Strange that you should mention battery but I don't think that will be related...
  7. Strangely my Wife's uncle has just purchased a 2014 R8 and this has a similar cradle in it. However, it also has bluetooth so I was just assuming that the adaptor charged the phone and boosted the signal?
  8. I believe they do make adapters for some smartphones but it will depend on your car and phone. Have you tried popping into your local dealer to ask? Do you have bluetooth anyway?
  9. Hi John welcome to the club :)
  10. Is there a big price difference?
  11. Hi Pete, I'm sorry to hear about your car - that must really suck :( Is it worth getting the damage assessed to see if it's in a state to be rebuilt?
  12. Will likely be the flap motor it's quite a common fault I believe
  13. Yep you should be fine! :) Let us know how you get on!
  14. Oh dear :( I think I'd still be inclined to get a second opinion though?
  15. Sounds good! I imagine it's already fairly nippy with the remap as it is?
  16. Any luck getting this sorted David?
  17. To my knowledge, I haven't see anyone do that before. Front seats I would make an educated guess at yes but probably not rear seats. Let us know how you get on.

    SatNav issues

Not heard of this before but very interesting. Sounds almost like the GPS calibration is slightly off?
  19. Yes it's plastic although I think it may have a bit of carpet on the top if I remember correctly. The roof key is a tool that allows you to raise and lower the roof manually should you need to.
  20. Sounds like the EGR valve? Should be something that's fairly routine to a garage these days...
  21. What garage did you use previously and was it a specialist? What happened?
  22. VAGCOM is generally considered the best option although this can be pricey to get started with. Possibly worth having if you're always going to stick with VAG cars though. The other option would be to look at a cheap generic code reader that is compatible with VAG cars. These will generally allow you to read and reset fault codes but nothing more complex than that - unlike VAGCOM where you can alter settings on the car and re-code parts etc.
  23. Sorry to hear about your predicament :( As far as I know there would be no need to touch the ECU if you're simply re-building an existing engine. It's simply a case of stripping it and repairing what's there....
  24. Hi Ant, welcome to the club :) Nice S4 - no plans on changing it soon after owning it for 5 years or are you still very happy with it?
  25. Obviously the most important thing to check out on a convertible is the roof. Be sure to check very carefully for good and proper operation, any weird noises etc. Check the roof stowage box in the boot as these are prone to breaking too. There should also be a roof key in the fuse box I believe. Other than the roof it's really just the usual A4 bits and bobs to check for :)
