  1. Hi Phil, Was it fairly straight forward in the end? I imagine the air box was easyish to access once the engine covers were removed? I suspect you probably were one of the first to do this to be honest!
  2. Out of interest, why do you want it put back to standard? Are you not happy with the map? As above, a decent specialist should be able to sort if for you without the need to change the ECU.
  3. There would also be the power fold option and the indicators if it has them in the mirrors
  4. I take it you've tried the obvious of checking for things like interior lights that stay on? It must be quite a slow drain as it doesn't drain overnight then?
  5. I've read somewhere that if you use VAGCOM to change the instrument cluster region to Germany, it disables the door chime. It does change some of the read outs to metric but these can be changed back via the computer control stalk.
  6. Any luck with this?
  7. Discs and pads on their own could help but I don't think you'll be blown away by the difference personally. Also, grooved discs can add some unwanted noise. Have you thought about a big brake kit? There are companies out there who offer 8 pot kits....
  8. Any progress with this?
  9. Personally as much as I hate to say it.... If it were me I'd be putting the car back up for sale as is. If you're only $500 in and you have a good chance at getting it back then that seems like a sensible bet. Once you've got shot you can go and find another project that's a bit more in your comfort zone :)
  10. Have you also thought about a Xenon/HID conversion? Not sure what the legalities are in the US though as it can be a bit of a grey area here in the UK?
  11. If you don't want to pay Audi prices (I'm assuming you don't) then you will need to keep an eye on eBay to honest. May just have to be patient and wait for some to come up. Also, keep an eye on the for sale section here of course :)
  12. Current offset should be 46 - 56 I believe depending on the current wheels you have fitted.
  13. Hi Phil, sounds like you have a rather nice A6 there. Looking forward to the photos :)
  14. Not from up your way I'm afraid but have heard good things about Lion and APS. I understand APS have actually won Audi Independent of the year a few times and people often travel from quite a way to get there...
  15. The alarm sounder itself is often the culprit when it comes to the alarm playing up so it would be good to check that out. Also, look under the carpet on the passenger side as that is where the module is located. It can be a common fault for these to get wet and cause problems.
  16. Hi Barry, welcome to the club and the world of Audi ownership! I often find wheels are fairly easy to match a silver up to. Pop into your local car spares store and ask a member of staff if you can pop a couple of touch ups outside to hold up against your wheel. If you're getting them re-furbished anyway then as long as you get close it should look better in the mean time.
  17. Could you possible post up a photo of the part you are talking about just to confirm which bit you mean?
  18. Do you have a spare key and if so have you tried this as this would allow you to work out if it is the key or the car at fault?
  19. Martin, likely either the power is not there of the mechanism has jammed. You will need to remove the door card to get the door open but as the door is not open you will have to cut/damage it in some way and then replace it once the lock is fixed.
  20. Can't see why they wouldn't be OK. Have you had any luck fitting either kit yet?
  21. No space saver is normal if you have the foam and compressor. Not sure on the tool kit but Audi do often put them in awkward places. Have a hunt around further under the floor than you may think like the next layer down and look behind plastic compartment doors etc.
  22. Jacky do you know which type of Auto box you have? DSG/multi-tronic etc?
  23. Not tried them myself but the Milenco mirrors seem to be pretty popular with the caravan club - may be worth checking out?
  24. Gary can you let us know what the van is and what car/van the seats have been removed from?
  25. I believe on 2010 onwards Audi models there is no physical TPMS. The system uses the ABS to calculate the rotational speed of each wheel and will alert you when one is different to the rest hence the pressure then must be lower. It will not show pressure on each individual wheel due to not having individual TPMS sensors. The upside to this is that you do not need to worry about sensors when changing wheels/tyres etc.
