  1. Hi Mike, welcome to the club :) I would suggest the best solution would be having a Parrot or similar installed: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Parrot-MKi9200-Bluetooth-Car-Kit/dp/B001IA3SZ0 This would essentially be almost the same as using factory bluetooth, auto connecting to your phone when you get in and automatically muting the radio/music for you to take the call and resuming after. This will require professional installation unless you are handy with that sort of thing (radio out, running cables behind trim etc). The cheapest/simplest solution would be something similar to the following: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Parrot-MKi9200-Bluetooth-Car-Kit/dp/B001IA3SZ0 It just plugs in your aux socket and allows you to run a hands free call through the aux. Downside is you have to remember to charge it and switch over to aux mode when a call comes in, but it's cheap and it works.
  2. Hopefully he won't try and fob you off with a clutch being a 'wear and tear' item. I believe under the sales of goods act it is down to the seller to prove that the fault wasn't there when he sold it to you within the first six months so you could always fall back on that?
  3. Hopefully not, I feel your paint after only having it a few weeks. I guess you have no come back with the seller? Where are you planning on getting it done?

    Coolest Audi.

Yes you have a very nice garage. I wish mine looked that immaculate! The JCW actually looks quite cool, I've never been much of a Mini fan to be honest but that one does actually look quite nice. I must say I'm impressed with all the red bits in your interior. How long did all that take you?
  5. Hi Sean, looks good - how did it go? Post some more photos up when you get a minute :) They're pretty good to be honest, the 2.0 TFSI is a good engine. In terms of mods, are you looking for performance or looks?
  6. Hi Andy, Will definitely be worth posting some photos and adding a description, as well as putting it in the for sale section.
  7. Oh and by the way did you go anywhere nice on holiday?
  8. It's definitely worth a slightly longer drive for an experience like that. It's great when you can build a relationship with an honest and helpful dealer :D
  9. Glad you managed to sort your problem Steve.
  10. I believe it will either be your glow plugs themselves or some glow plug related wiring. Have you actually tried swapping out the glow plugs yet?

John, I like the red highlights to be honest, did you do that yourself? I like the fact that it's quite subtle and not over the top, plus it matched the red highlights in your interior. By the way, is that your garage in the photo with the chair in the background?
  12. Hmmm, that's not very good do you have a photo of it? Have you tried going to Audi UK yet or is that just the dealer?
  13. No I haven't always owned Audi - various other cars before but always been impressed by the fit and finish when it comes to Audi, particularly with interior quality these days nothing else comes close, apart from perhaps really exotic stuff! I've been quite lucky with this one to be honest nothing major has gone wrong although I hate saying that! I do some basic maintenance myself, being fairly switched on but I don't tackle anything too extreme. You can't really go wrong with the 1.9 tdi you have in your A4 though, they're excellent engines and I've seen many people get some serious high mileage out of them. What sort of mileage are you up to in yours?
  14. Hi James, welcome! :) This can be quite a common fault with remapped cars, as the increased torque causes the clutch plate to slip. You will not NEED a new dual mass flywheel, but many people recommend fitting one at the same time to save on labour if it goes later, though this will add significantly to the parts cost. The only bit causing the slipping will be the clutch assembly itself. If you're handy with a spanner etc, the cheapest method would be to do it yourself minus the DMF. Not too sure on costs I'm afraid, will depend on the exact model you have. Also, if you go to an Audi dealer the labour plus parts will cost a small fortune if you include the DMF.
  15. Hi Philip, welcome! :) Have you thought about the handbrake switch? If the car doesn't realise that the handbrake is on it will not release the roof at the windscreen.
  16. How much is that setting you back this time by the way?
  17. I know what you mean! Keeping my fingers crossed for you. Let us know how you get on!
  18. Sorry to hear that! Can't say I'm surprised regarding the Mercedes though... what year is it? Mercedes were known to go through a bit of a rough patch around the time of the earlier C Class models in the 90s and early 2000's!

You could use any simple photo editing software to resize the photo. I use paint.net for simple stuff, which is completely free but fairly functional. Easiest way would be to resize images as modern cameras with lots of megapixels take big images. For example you could resize 4096 x 3040 to 800 x 594 keeping the same aspect ratio. Paint.net will also allow you to compress a little while saving but that may not be necessary. To be honest you could probably get away with Microsoft paint for something like that! Going back to the cars, that's pretty good keeping up with the S3, do you know what year it was? To be honest, modern hot hatches are getting so quick now you can barely extract all of the power/performance out of them in a normal road situation as it is! Did you get a chance to test drive the Golf R by the way?

If you go to 'more reply options' you will then see an 'attach files' button where you can upload your pics, and then press 'add to post'. Yes I'm very lucky with the S5, getting a bit older now but I still love it! The S1 is pretty quick for a small car though isn't it? Interesting you should mention that about the mini not having the refinement and value for money, it's good to see Audi beating BMW in that respect!
  21. Hi Duncan, welcome to the club :) I'm afraid I'm not too sure on your ignition lead question. Out of interest, why would you want to fit ignition leads from a different engine code?
  22. James

    Coolest Audi.

How do you find the S1 in comparison to the JCW?
  23. Fair enough, that's nice and easy if you have the option of working via Skype etc.... you can pack up and move anywhere pretty easily!
  24. Ah ok, that was the only other thing I could really think of off the top of my head as I've heard about injectors failing many times and Audi selling them very regularly!
  25. Hi John, welcome to the club and congratulations on your purchase! I wouldn't be worrying about any issues yet with a 2014 car, that's what warranty is for! :D Post some photos up so we can take a look!
