Rob, are you looking for new or used?
  2. Hi Lindsay, Often there are many sizes of tyre that can be fitted to a particular car model, depending on your wheels. It could be that you have an optional wheel that required a different size of tyre. If you can find the sticker fitted to your car detailing tyre pressures, you may find that it mentions multiple different tyre size options on there.
  3. Thanks Dan, sounds like quite an interesting add on. Not heard of anything like this before!
  4. Hi Ian, welcome to the club. Sounds like a nice A6 you have there. Perhaps post some pictures up :) Out of interest, how did you find the Macan?
  5. Are you away anywhere nice Gary?
  6. I've not tackled this myself before, but from what I've read, it's not quite that simple. You need to have a compatible "highline" ecu. Even if you do have this, the wheel will require coding to the car. If you don't, you will need to get the ecu and code this to the car as well as the steering wheel. Also, you may need a new airbag wiring harness. It's definitely possible but if you need the ecu I guess it could get quite expensive. Let us know how you get on with this :)
  7. What was your rattle caused by Gary?
  8. No worries, yes the actuator plug is well worth taking a look at anyway, and yes feel free to post up again when you have some codes :) Good luck and fingers crossed you get it sorted soon and can carry on enjoying the car!
  9. No worries, looking forward to the pics :)
  10. I agree, there's nothing worse that hearing a rattle. No matter how small it is you still hear it once you know it's there, even when passengers don't!
  11. Sorry hear that, it does seem to be a gearbox that is plagued with faults :( I once read about one guy who had the gearbox changed 3 times in a single year
  12. I guess that seems the most simple way providing it's easy to take it apart without breaking it :)
  13. Hi Jordan, welcome to the club :) Sorry to hear you've been having issues with your A3. It's pretty difficult to give any kind of diagnosis without specific fault codes, but from what you've said regarding boost pressure, I've heard of it before where the turbo actuator doesn't open fully, and the turbo pressure sensor picks this up throwing the fault. There is an electrical connection that goes into the actuator. I would try wiggling/cleaning this to see if it is the culprit. If so, once cleaned the actuator should open fully allowing full boost pressure and no faults (plus the correct amount of power :) ). As I said, this is just an educated guess but may be worth a look! Let us know how you get on.
  14. Peter, if you get a later generation nano, you can get reasonable memory capacity too. The 5th generation for example is the one I have goes up to a 16GB version and can be had pretty cheaply from ebay/gumtree these days. Let me know how you get on with the newer iPod you have.
  15. Hi Charles welcome to the club :) Best bet when it comes to servicing would be to check out the comparison table from Audi's site below: https://www.audi.co.uk/owners-area/servicing-maintenance-mot/fixed-price-services/major-service-interim-service-table.html That explains what's usually covered on a major/minor fixed price service. If you're planning on maintaining the car yourself for some time, it's probably worth investing in a VAGCOM system to read/clear fault codes etc.
  16. Hi Daryn, welcome to the club! Post some pics up of the car when you get get a minute :) In terms of MPG, the 1.9 is pretty reasonable. I reckon you should expect to get in the region of mid to high 40's depending on how it's driven and the type of journey.
  17. Peter, is your iPod classic one of the early models that pre dates album art all together? If so, I would think any of the later models should be ok that display album art on the screen of the physical iPod? I've heard of people using the iPhone 4s with the red cable and album art displaying fine, so I would think an iPod nano or touch from around that era should do the trick. Personally a cheap nano would be my pick as the touch would be wasted when tucked away in the car.
  18. Hi Andris, welcome! :) I hate to say it, but to have a gearbox supplied and fitted my guess would be in the region of £2000-£4000 for a new one anyway. Were you aware that the multitronic gearbox of certain years is a well know common fault? Have you considered taking the car to a gearbox specialist to see if it can be refurbished?
  19. I think you have a strong argument there for an inspection in a regular service, I mean how hard can it be to take a quick look!
  20. I was thinking a breakers yard but I guess you would need to be careful with mileage/kilometres driven as the unit from the breakers yard would clearly be different.
  21. It does seem strange to me considering Audi are all about quality, and a rattle on a brand new car doesn't exactly scream quality... Interested to hear how you get on :)
  22. It's amazing that sunroofs are still causing problems after all these years. It used to always be the old French cars but I guess if that drain is blocked what can you do...
  23. Geoff, cars are certainly a lot more complex these days and let's not forget Audi's labour rate isn't exactly cheap! Will be interesting to see how they split the costs on the invoice though...
  24. Hi Darryl, I assume you have tried your local stealership as aside from being a bit pricey they would probably give you the part number?
  25. Hi Geoff, welcome to the club! :) Seems quite pricey, I've not heard of them not replacing the filter so I would ring and clarify. I know the service schedule can be a little odd with some people being told their car needs an oil change as part of an inspection service when it's only recently had the oil service This is the official Audi schedule: https://www.audi.co.uk/owners-area/servicing-maintenance-mot/servicing-your-audi.html Are you sure the £399 isn't the price for the inspection service? I guess you could always get a price from your next nearest Audi dealer to see if it matches up?
