  1. Yes Rob we still are a little quiet on the classic front, that's why it's nice to see someone running a coupe as their daily driver. I've also just started a new word association game for a bit of fun in the club lounge if you're up for it: http://www.audiownersclub.com/forums/topic/6102-the-word-association-thread/
  2. Just for a bit of fun! I'll start: Spaghetti
  3. Yes I guess it's a bit heavy car, all wheel drive, auto, large engine etc. As you say it will probably be a lot better on a long run. What's the combined figure meant to be?
  4. Interesting - I did have a sit in the new Type R at a motor show last year and I agree the looks are very "in your face" and the other thing I came away thinking was that it surprised me how large it is. I guess all hatchbacks are getting bigger though - have you seen the latest Renault Clio? It's huge!
  5. Hi Rob, think I said hello in another thread but nice looking coupe! Definitely got a bit of retro cool about it, and wow - that is low mileage!
  6. Never mind, worth a try. Perhaps set up ebay email alerts etc, so you don't have to keep checking manually?
  7. Nice to hear it's being used daily! Any photos?
  8. Rob, do you run your coupe as a daily driver or is it a second car?
  9. Interesting comparison thanks David. Out of interest did you test drive the latest civic type r?
  10. Let us know how you get on
  11. I'm pretty sure there is a newer version available than this.
  12. No worries, I know it can be difficult when you have that kind of history with a car. You never know, you could always end up buying it a third time
  13. Thick paint on the sensor wouldn't show as a fault, they would either not pick up anything or beep like crazy thinking you're touching something.
  14. HI Jane, It's almost a classic but with a few issues and lots of miles on it I would have though you're unlikely to get much for it unfortunately. It would probably be only financially worth spending money on if it has any sentimental value to you.
  15. Also a long shot but why not contact ABT and see if they can help you locate one?
  16. Seems obvious but I was going to ask the same. Need to rule these things out!
  17. Which engine do you have? Short journeys certainly won't help. Also, are you looking at average MPG or instant? If it's average then it may be worth resetting it as it could still be from the old owner.
  18. Quite likely to be the engine speed sensor...
  19. Try speaking to these guys: http://www.advanced-incar.co.uk/audi-retrofits or http://www.audiretrofit.com/www.audiretrofit.coms/info.php?p=9
  20. Yes, it's possible but legally a grey area. You're supposed to have headlight washers and automatic levelling to be completely legit. Some people do it anyway and get away with it but clearly that's up to you if you want to take the risk. You would need to check the type of bulb you need (probably H7 if you have halogen lights I would think) and being an Audi it will need to be a canbus compatible kit so that it doesn't trigger and bulb warning lights on the dash. Also check how the current bulb fits in - if it's just a spring clip then the standard hid kit H7 will be OK, if it pushes or twists in or uses some sort of adaptor, then you may have to buy adapters to get the bulb to fit. You will be required to drill the bulb covers in the back of the headlights too, so that the cable can pass through to go to the ballast. They usually offer a choice of bulb colour - 4300K is OEM, 5000k is pure white, 6000k has a hint of blue. Personally I like 5000k but that's just my preference. Hope that helps.
  21. Glad you're enjoying it! I wouldn't worry too much about the fuel consumption during the honeymoon phase! What did you drive previously?
  22. Not 100% sure Tony unless anyone else can help? I would suspect certain others will fit but not all. Certainly I would imagine others that have the same gearbox layout should be OK. Easiest to try and find one from the same car if possible though.
  23. I would say in principle yes, you would need to see if the wiring loom is the same. Also, my guess is they would likely require some coding. Just as a thought - may be worth phoning Audi and asking for a quote to change them, then ask them to break down what they're charging for and it would give you and idea of the parts/coding required.
