  1. Whoa DD, that is a triple whammy.....first your car is totalled by a nimrod, then you get a brain haemorrhage, and then your licence is suspended..... Glad you pulled through and are driving again but still..... Wow. The Q5 / SQ5 is a perfect sized vehicle, practical and spacious yet surprisingly nimble given it's dimensions. The need for anything larger is questionable for practical reasons like parking spaces, multi level car parks, narrower lanes and of course space in built up areas which require you to slot into smaller gaps without hanging over into yellow junction boxes!
  2. Personally, im averaging around 31 to 34mpg in traffic, and down to 22 to 25ish when very slow crawl on motorway but..... Paddle to 60mph and she rises nicely to early 40s........ Drop it down a couple of gears and bury the throttle and say hello to a diesel fueled !Removed! where fuel economy leaps out of your mind and adrenaline pulses through your veins leading to a cheshire cat grin. The SQ5 was my dream car and still is. I do not regret buying it for a second either. Insurance was a minor blip but LVE have given me a fab deal for my second year of ownership.
  3. Hi all, I went with Bridgestone Turanza T005 on the fronts, will be replacing the rears in about 3 to 4 months. These replace the standard Pirellis, alternatively Dunlop Sports were on offer; having had DS before i knew the grip was good but the compound was far softer. Bridgestone offered less road noise, better grip and better fuel efficiency plus overall more reviews by owners appeared to support this. Ideally i would have replaced all four but at £217 per tyre excl alignment / tracking etc it was a large bulk so went with the urgency (fronts) and rears in a little while (still 3mm) so no worries. Hopefully this will help someone else on tyre choice 🙂
  4. Update, now a club supporter and also got the two new front tyres done. ALS Tyres did a great job and a very good price. They discovered someone had bent the seal with a small jack previously but nothing can be done now on that now. Also, they laser aligned the wheels and car feels so much better so very happy.
  5. Hi Trevor, Thanks for the detailed response; what i was thinking was more attuned to a tiered subscription - similar to bronze, silver, gold approach. Cost increases with increased services / discounts which benefit club, partner and member. Just a thought i had, not trying to tread on toes 😉. Once i have the two new tyres purchased my membership subscription will be on its way to you too.
  6. Hi Trevor, Thanks for the suggestion, all seems bone dry. Worked fine up until about two months ago but i figured low screenwash so topped it up but nope 😞 Out of curiosity which do you prefer SQ5 diesel (original), or the SQ5 petrol. I did hear Audi plan to bring back the diesel version by popular demand....
  7. I am looking at subscribing to support the club and of course the forum. Looking at the list of benefits got me thinking about enhancing the services to members. For example tiers of membership or perhaps a selection of bolt on services - kind of like sky with their modular additions. The previous thread on what to add / change on the forum seemed a smart idea but went quiet. Reading it, i noticed one post mentioning headlight removal, which then led to me recalling how many posts there are for asking how to do this or that.....that led to me wondering how an on-demand service featuring videos on various how to topics (insert disclaimer stating videos are for educational purposes and no liability blah blah etc) such as headlight removal, changing interior inserts, installing dashcam, wiper replacements, fitting window shades, fixing broken wing mirror caps / glass replacement, etc. To pay for the costs associated a £fee per year could be levied for consumers of that service (some free but most content chargeable). Other modular additions (not chargable) could be experiences / reviews of after market suppliers like AMD tuning, HazzyDayz.com....or different insurance companies, or even sharing feedback on different Audi dealerships. Thoughts?
  8. Hi All, Firstly, hi / hello / bienvenidos / hola / bonjour and so on to all. Not many people can say they own their dream car, but for me the 2016 SQ5 3.0 V6 BiTurbo tdi is definitely that. I have owned it for a little under a year from the same dealer that had it from new (driven by the owner of the dealership since new). For those that have never driven one, it is phenominal. For those that have, you know what i mean. Ok so it is no RS7 or R8 but to move an SUV to 60mph in an iota over 5 seconds from standstill is psychotic! I do love it. Anyway, i digress, i will be needing a couple of new tyres on the front in the coming months and thought to find out if any of you with an SQ5 have any suggestions on a good brand? Next, anyone else have issues with the rear screenwasher? The motor spins when activated but no screenwash. Filled the screenwash bottle and did the pin in the washer jet trick to clear debris but still nothing.... Oh and have any of you used AMD for tuning / remaps? Any good?
