  1. Hi guys hope your all well. So recently I have discovered on my A5 2012 b8.5 1.8 tfsi. An audible noise coming from the car when I'm reversing. No brakes applied. It goes when I press the brake. And the sound is just like brake squeal. I had the disks and pads replaced all around 9 months ago. Strangely though I also hear a strange noise when I am on the motorway at higher speeds cruising. Another high pitch sound in a pulse like pattern. Since this has happened I have also been losing MPG quite a bit. Could anybody advise please. Ash
  2. Hi guys hope you're all well. This is one that's been bugging me.for a while and I've seen different information regarding it online. So the A5 b8.5 cabriolet has a storage box for the good when the roof is down right? Well when the roof is up this box can be raised but is there any way at all you can get the roof to stay up? I've seen things online regarding this bit I can't find any way what so ever to get it to stay up when I move it into position. Really inconvenient to say the least when loading up. Thanks in advance!
  3. Hiya Gareth thankyou so much for the advice and I apologize for the slow reply. I will be getting some bulbs tomorrow to test this but just out of curiosity like I said the bulbs still work perfectly fine and have done for over a year and now like I say it's throwing up that message while they still work. Does that mean the resistance would change over time? Could it be due to cold weather or anything like that? Regards. Ashley
  4. Hi guys I have a really strange issue. I have an Audi A5 cabriolet facelift 2012. I had the car a year ago now and after a few weeks a number plate light went so I went and replaced them with similar new ones which are led. After some fiddling they went in sound now problem and have worked ever since. Went to turn my car on today and it tells me on the on dash screen the number ate lights aren't working. Upon checking several times with other people checking for me when turning car on and off. The lights are actually working perfectly fine? Which has confused the hell out of me to be honest. It's telling me they don't work but they clearly do. I took them out to check to terminals and no issue. Put them back in and same thing. Tells me they don't work. Help lease!? Much appreciated! Ash
  5. Hi guys was wondering if you could help me with an issue! I have a 2012 Audi A5 cabriolet facelift edition s line 1.8 tfsi. As other cab owners will know the boot has a storage box that can be raised when the roof in up. Thus giving you more room for your boot storage. Well according to my owners manual it says I can keep this box fixed in the up position allowing me to have more storage at all times and automatically comes back down when I choose to take down the roof. Thing is when I go to push my roof storage box up it just comes back down under weight like against the springs that are inside the box. It doesn't stay up basically. According to the manual also there is a release lever that releases the raised box back down if you so desire. But I can't find this either? Anyone know why this is? Does my vehicle simply just not have it? Regards Ash S
  6. Hi there. Was wondering if anyone could shed some light on a really confusing situation I have with my Audi A5 Cabriolet. I know moisture or condensation in headlight and tail light clusters is no new matter in cars. But with this being the tail strip LED bulb I was wondering if anyone has come across this and knows how to rectify the issue if possible? Like a permanent fix if possible? And also how to even remove this light assembly if possible to dry it out and fix? Seems minor and petty I know but with how the weather has been over this winter I'd rather try and keep it safe a bit longer off possible as this doesn't seem your average bulb jobby. Hope everyone is holding up well and staying safe during the COVID-19. A.S
  7. That's perfect thankyou so much for clearing that up for me. I'll investigate further and let you know the results if I find anything or if I have to take it to garage to further diagnose! Thanks again! 🎖️🏆🎖️🏆
  8. Thankyou for the quick reply Gully! I have been considering for a while one of these VAGCOM readers. Does it bring up more live information like numerical readings? Are there any ways to self diagnose this issue without the VAG in the meantime? See if I can try to do it myself? I'm not entirely too sure what part of the engine it is that the MAP sensor is in could you possible circle it for me if I've shown it or the area it would be and reupload the image possibly please? What are the causes for this issue commonly? And is it okay for this kind of thing to happen with the milage of the vehicle? Again thanks for the speedy response it's been a massive help. 👍🏆👌 Regards Ash
  9. Hi all, This is only my second post very new to this forum so hey all! Just wanted to find some guidance on a problem I have recently had come up and I don't know where to go with it. Car is Audi A5 Cabriolet 2012 1.8 tfsi milage 54,855. The code is P0068 (have attached photo stating the codes details). Basically it doesnt point my in any direction of it it's the MAP sensor or the MAF sensor. And if it did where are they? Might sound dumb but I'm no techy by any standard but was just hoping to find some guidance and this one. The photo I've attached is my engine and he area I believe the MAF sensor would be but after doing some research online I seem to not be able to see a MAF sensor?. Anyone please! Help 🤣😂🤣 Ash
  10. Thanks for the quick reply Gareth! That was basically the case. Washed the car a few times then all these blotches come up which I came seem to get out. There are a few stone chips here and there but it just shows up so many new marks since cleaning general dirt and grime. It was from a dealership and when getting to the inside hidden bits of trim it seemed there was a lot of white waxy mixture all around the hinges and all of that but same kind of thing here and there around certain paintwork too? Regards Ashley
  11. Hi all! Just joined and this is my first post! Recently purchased my Audi A5 cabriolet 2012 1.8 TFSI! Upon purchasing and doing a few washes by hand myself I noticed marking all over the paintwork. Odd scratch here and there but nothing to cause worry. But some of these marks on the paint just don't seem to come out!! Any know what these are? And how to correct it? Is.it just bad wax ? Or actual damage and requires detailing or new top coat?
