  1. If you invest in the OBDEleven you can scan the car for faults yourself. That's how I discovered this was the ABS sensor in my case. In fact it's been amazing at sorting all problems. Your garage may scan for free... The rough engine is another matter though. But a scan will at least point you in the right direction.
  2. I had this. It was the ABS sensor on one wheel.
  3. Crappy plastic gears. What !Removed!. Took the garage a wee bit to find this, even though I mentioned it. But they also caught a failing solenoid. Attached is pic of those !Removed! plastic parts. Worn worm screw and teeth chipped off the gear. So much for a "glow-plug" warning!
  4. Thanks!! It's booked in for Monday/Tues. Any links would help. The garage is good at going with pointers. It didn't come on just now when I reversed. I even blipped the revs. But it needs to be looked at. I'll let you know.
  5. Driving quite quickly home last night - then the coil light comes on, flashing. Because phone is playing spotify I can ask it to tell me what it means! I get some generic stuff, but at least I know - as it drops in to limp mode - I'll get home. So, home and scan. I get the p00af00 - turbocharger/supercharger boost control "a" module performance. I've looked this up and I am hoping it's just the boost control module. If I clear codes, the car is fine when I start it - but if I rev it the flashing begins. Anyone else had experience of this, and the possible cost 😞
  6. I'll see about getting belt changed
  7. I service the car myself, but ... at 100k is there anything I need to have done that I MUST have done, or at the very least checked out? Thanks
  8. ...aye, and charge you a fortune for the 'special' tool use.
  9. I don't know what model you have exactly, but the specs for a 2014 say 6.4 litres.
  10. When you refill, you have to do it very carefully with the MMI. You will notice that it shows an initial reading then a new reading about 15 secs later. That's the one to go by. Just fill it when hot, and you'll be fine - but it's very sensitive. Hence I use the oil pump!!
  11. And remember the oil in the filter will come out too!!
  12. Also, there's a torque setting for the oil filter too.
  13. I use an oil pump. Best thing ever. No under the car messing about.
  14. Put in a saved search in eBay and you'll get emails when new ones appear. That one did seem good. I nearly got one just before xmas - as I say £175.
  15. Bah...
  16. If it comes with the full VCDS software, that's a !Removed! bargain. I may beat you to it 🙂 You can always return it if it doesn't work.
  17. No, you just buy the OBDEleven device and you're away. Connects to your phone and you can do adaptations, long-coding (if you are brave) and of course scan for faults, and clear them. Or get VCDS off eBay for £175
  18. OBDEleven works well. Mine is a 13/14 BiTurbo.
  19. Try A for Audi. Lookers failed to diagnose something I ended up sorting myself.
  20. That isn't the usual turbo howl, so Steve may well be right it's a leaking pipe. No smoke and no loss of power mean if it is the turbo, it's not blown. Let us know what your local garage says. You're in Coatbridge, so you could try A for Audi in Glasgow for a diagnostic.
  21. Turbo whistle? Couldn't really hear much from the files. But any whistle when accelerating is usually the turbo. I can hear something, occasionally, but best to give timestamps of when it occurs.
  22. Fingers crossed it's the sensor. You can get those off eBay. Let us know what the garage says. I have an OBDEleven. Best thing I've bought for the car! Scans and allows wee tweaks.
  23. Have you scanned for faults? It may just be a level sensor failure on one of the wheels. I have had that. But only got the red warning when the new one wasn't calibrated. However, if you haven't had the associated adaptive headlights etc., warnings, then it may be the other stuff Gareth mentions. Good luck.
  24. I have the Bluetooth one on my AllRoad. Haha. I have only ever used it at 7 once 🙂
