  1. My CarPlay still isn’t working, if anyone else has had same. My iPhone works fine in other Audis No iPhone will connect to car play in this car.
  2. In my 2019 A4, Apple Car Play worked fine, so did Android Auto (Android hardly used). Then a few weeks ago, Car Play does not connect. I removed all the stored phones and factory reset the "Audi Smartphone" bit in Settings. Plugging in the iPhone (iOS 16) gives prompt on MMI screen to activate Car Play, so it sees it, but then does no more. If you go to Connection Manager, it sees iPhone in the Smartphone option, but it's not ticked. If you manually tick it, the tick appears then disappears. I tried a different iPhone with iOS 18, and changed the cable, same problem. I plugged the Android in (not been used for a year), that did the same thing, tick appears then disappears, and Android screen showed something like there had been an error, device did not meet security protocols. Something like that. I forced the tick again, then Android Auto worked fine. But iPhone refuses to work - it won't stay ticked, it looks like a handshake fails. Phone does not react in anyway when connected. Bluetooth connection works fine for music/phone etc. Anyone seen before?
  3. Hi All, 2019 B9 Avant develops a really irritating squeak from somewhere in the boot. I dispatch nephew into the boot while I find a bumpy road. Squeak found to be some wobbly trim just under the driver side rear light cluster. If you pop that cubby hole cover off in the boot on driver side, a couple of inches below the light cluster there is a threaded spindle sticking through the body work. It looks like it should have a nut on it. But doesn't. Pull on the spindle, squeak stops, blissful silence. You just see the bumper move slightly when you pull it, a couple of mm. If looks like the nut fell off (looked but could not see it). But plot thickens - I checked the other side, it's the same, no nut on that spindle. I did not buy it new, it's possible the bumper has been off and they weren't replaced. But if someone could check theirs and see if they have a nut there, I'd appreciate it. Thanks HC.
  4. Solved by local garage - replaced the knock sensor.
  5. Thanks for reply. I can measure it but I'm sure it's not the battery - starter motor was turning it over way too well, no hesitation, no slowness. We tried a tow start, it was sounding like it wanted to start, but couldn't quite get there. If it was battery, it definitely would have started at that point...
  6. A 1991 Audi 100 2.3E sat idle for a couple of months, and the battery went flat. Prior to this, it was in use most days and reliable. The battery was taken out and charged, and after that the car cranks but won't start. The battery was not reconnected wrong way round, even for a second. Maybe taking the battery out has nothing to do with it, it could be a coincidence. There is no alarm fob on the key, there is no alarm fitted, and I don't think it has an immobiliser, key is very simple. Does anyone have an idea what might cause this ? Due to recent bereavement the car now needs to be sold, so it needs to be running. It seems a real shame to scrap this car. Thanks.
