  1. Ok a wee update. car has eventually been looked at and it’s the ABS sensor and also a wheel bearing at the rear. The warranty is covering the cost €891. I had never before had to call roadside assistance or ever had to question warranties and it was a bit of toing and froing but got there in the end
  2. Hi Irinhorse, I would say I’m going to start adding in something, he gave ne that bottle but I will have a wee read of the Cataclean you use.
  3. Had an AA guy out to the car and he mentioned this stuff. He said to put in a third of the bottle with every 2nd fuel fill. If like me you don’t really get to motorways to often and you can’t really give the car a good hard run then he said this stuff is great. Brakes down all the carbons and improves mpg and cleans out engine. anyone used this before?
  4. It is away to Audi in cork now not Belfast as that’s the nearest to me. I bought it from Audi approved from main dealer in Belfast with a 2 year Audi warranty. in fairness they have have all been super helpful and the car is being collected this afternoon. Just need to wait and see what comes back
  5. Hi Gareth, The battery was checked first when the AA guy was here and it was reading 88% to the good. Im not sure what I’m looking at in this report. Do you know if there is anything real bad on it? Cheers Derek
  6. Just a little story I will keep updating as I go along for anyone interested incase if same issues. Ok so basically I’ve had the car 9 months (2017 tdi ultra 218bhp) and got a 2 year main dealer warranty from Audi approved. I switched the car on 3 days ago and I got 7 faults all at once tyre pressure fault, brake fault, headlight fault, airbag fault, stop/start fault, abs fault, brake servo fault. I took it to a friend of a friend who has the plug in to see the faults and he cleared them and it came back as the ABS sensor on the rear right hand side. I was waiting for the part to come and yesterday the Gearbox Malfunction fault appeared. I called the the Audi Belfast garage and got the AA man to the house where he checked the car over and got these list of faults shown below. the car drives like new with no issues with these warnings as I had to drive it home when they were on. anyway the car is now heading for the garage and I’ve to collect a hire car to do me till it’s fixed. anyone else had any experience on what I should ask/demand that needs to happen with the car? cheers derek
  7. Hi, Im not tech savvy in the slightest but was wondering if anyone would know if this version is up to date for the model of my car? Its a 2017 ultra sline 218. I would like the sat nav to have a postcode function on it but I can’t seem to find how to do it. Can anyone break down the version numbers for me as I’m just interested. cheers.
  8. I haven’t actually took it to a garage yet as I haven’t had the chance as been to busy. I did however put new plates on it as it was being imported to Ireland from the UK and the problem stopped. Now you mention it the old plate wasn’t stuck down the best and was flapping a little on that side so it could have possibly been that. kinda makes sense really. cheers for that

I haven’t really no as the roads are always blinds busy to do a standing still start but the acceleration is plenty for me. My wife drives a new 1.6 diesel Mondeo and I got her to drive it but she is a little intimidated by the power so said she doesn’t wanna drive it so that’s a bonus I guess haha
  10. Yeah I emailed the Audi garage and they called me straight away in fairness. told me to take to nearest Audi garage and get it fixed and that I have to pay for it then send them the invoice and they will forward on the cost back to me. I wasn’t sure if there was maybe a reset on them or some other way but he said it needed to be plugged in and checked.
  11. Hi, 2017 ultra S-line. only had it a week from Audi approved. anyway the last couple days I’ve noticed the front passenger sensor is a constant beep when there is obviously nothing there. It keeps on until I start driving and get to about 9/10 km an hour the it switches off. is there a reset somewhere or is it a case of back to the garage. My problem is I traveled for the car and the garage is 300 miles away haha.
  12. Hi, I took the plunge and got one 😁. Over the moon with it so far. 2017 ultra S-line.

Yeah it’s was a decent deal to be fair. The warranty was a special they had running till the end of the month so got lucky. the day to day running for me anyway seems to be between 38-44mpg but wouldn’t be on any motorways as it’s all country back rounds really to my work from home. still isn’t to bad for a 3 ltr diesel.

Hi, I also collected a 2017 ultra S line only a week ago. Was hunting for a while and eventually took the plunge. Mine also from a main dealer and got a 2 year Audi warranty, 2 year road side assistance, 2 year key cover and 2 year not cover. 2 new Pirelli P-zero and a tank off diesel. I drove 300 mile home first day with it and averaged 52mpg and that was playing about going fast and slow etc. Just filled the tank from quarter full and I was €75. Car is brilliant and is a real head turner. good luck with it 👍
  15. Hi, Basically ive always loved the look of the A7. I am not a car head but appreciate a nice car when i see it so im in the market to buy one. I am looking at 2016 Ultra model with 40-50,000 miles on it as for me that is enough. Im not overly fussed on all the bells and whistles so the base model is fine. Anyway i have been looking round the forum and i have to say im beginning to think another car might be the better choice. I know its a forum and its a place to find information on car problems but it is genuinely making me think twice incase i end up with a donkey. My problem being that i will be buying in the UK and taking it back to Ireland and i don't wanna land back in Ireland with warning lights everywhere all over the dash. The coolant problem going into the plug thing and causing problems, is this only on certain models or on all etc? As i said i am not a car head and im just looking for some " ive never had an issue" stories to build some confidence. Surely the topics on the forum are in the minority rather than the majority? Thanks
