I'd much rather have ACC than fog lights, since I hardly ever drive in fog. I have almost no use whatsoever for fog lights.

Here is the definition of Tiptronic. "Tiptronic is the name given to Audi's manual shifting mode available on their regular automatic gearboxes." The Multitronic, DSG and modern Torque converter gearboxes all have this manual shifting function. So the build sheet of my departed 2011 A5 DSG shows code OG7 (Tiptronic) AND G1D (7-speed automatic transmission for four wheel drive vehicle).

BiTDi has a torque converter gearbox with fluid flywheel.

A6 C7 2017 Dynamic indicators on full LED Headlights

You could Trupesh at emtunung to see if he knows anyone. -
Do you know what engine is in your car at the moment? Quattro? How long do you think such an engine swap would take and would you want the car off the road for that length of time? If you have the time and money anything is possible - and the engines will be 20 years old by now.

Here is a link to the Audi option codes. My car has option 7E6. If you are not the original owner of the car, how do you know what tinkering might have been done with VCDS by the previous owners? Although I am not a user, I'm sure it is possible to bring up options in the MMI which have no effect because the item is not fitted. I cannot find a remote auxiliary heater option to pre-heat the cabin before the engine is started in a UK brochure, though it does appear in an American brochure. There I can also see a picture of a special key with a LCD display. Looking on eBay there are auxiliary heater elements for sale. I guess these kick in once the engine has been started to provide a initial boost as diesel engines are slow to warm up. Hope this helps.

Your friendly Audi dealer will advise you whether an auxiliary heater is fitted to the car. It probably isn't unless it's a non-UK car.

Clutch Pedal Switch for Engine Start (F194) Fault

The switch was attached to a new master cylinder .....????? -
If you can afford to pay the premium for that sort of urban usage then go for it. I use premium diesel in my Audi TDi because of the dire warnings I received if I did not use it. I looked at the fuel consumption my my diesel today. Urban running in 30 mph limits to pick up my mother - average 20 mpg. Add a bit of steady 40 mph running on the North Circular - increases to an average of 30 mpg. Add a run up the A40, M25 and M4 - increases to an average of 42 mpg.
-
The WLTP figure for the 1.8TFSi on heavy Urban running is 27.7 mpg with an overall consumption of 39.2 mpg. What you're getting does not sound unreasonable. I would not be bothering with E5 in your car.
-
At 70mph you are probably only using 45 BHP of the 190 at your disposal. Aerodynamic drag is the major enemy at highway speeds and the the A6 is a large, heavy car and still needs a bit of gas to maintain speed up the inclines. If you had a petrol A6, then the mpg would be more like 33. Do make sure that top gear (7th?) is being used. I sometimes need to force the car into top at 70 mph - but I do have an 8-speed gearbox.

Does the 2014 model comply with Central Birmingham's emissions charge policy?

I suspect that the rectangular area is for storage of the optional-extra accessories that slide into the luggage area guide rails. One could store damp clothing in there.

For anyone following this, there is an eBay seller offering an apparently unmarked set of 17" alloys with 4 winter tyres, 2 good + 2 poor for £400. My car has come off its 20's and onto 17's for ride comfort. I have bought from these guys before.

An Audi independent specialist advised me only to use premium diesel. I'm not using any other additives. During the recent shortages I have been forced to use standard grade fuel.

2015 Bluetooth phone conversation problem
beemerboy9 replied to David O's topic in Audi A6 (C7) Forum
Has it recently stopped working or has it never worked? If it has recently stopped working, then what has changed on the car? -
More than likely the noise is a brake pad freeing itself. The pad can sometimes stick to a hot disk

I agree with most of the above. What you forget to say is the the Stupid Wheels come also with Stupid firm and lowered Suspension. Yes, my second-hand A6 Avant SE came with 20" alloys which thumped loudly over poor surfaces. I couldn't wait to get a nice set of 17" wheels and 55 section tyres on it. The big wheels I will keep because they will add hugely to the desirability/resale value at trade-in time. My mind is boggled by the number of people who use their cars as an art form. I admit that some of the lowered cars look amazing, but I do wonder how practical they are. The Germans have got it right. They buy a base car and everything is an extra.

The AMI will charge the phone and you can control the phone from the steering wheel buttons.

Dilemma! A6 Avant - 2.0 Quattro 190ps or 3.0 Quattro 272ps
beemerboy9 replied to CJKNOTT's topic in Audi A6 (C7) Forum
That is because the 2.0 litre is perfectly adequate for most people for most driving. If a 3 litre will do 40 mpg, I would expect the 2.0 litre to do 50+. 0-60 in 8.2 seconds for the 190PS Ultra is not slow but it does very much depend on where you're coming from. You will always enjoy the fuel economy of the 2-litre, so think carefully how often you will use the extra performance of the 3-litre. -
See if the garage can find any technical services bulletins and also get them to call Audi Germany to see if this a new problem. There are two types of 8-speed Tiptronic gearbox. The first type is the Multitronic found on many 2.0 litre cars and a few 3 litres. The second type only comes with an engine called a BiTDi. Which one have you got?
