  1. Apologies I thought it had cylinder deactivation which is what causes the revs to drop. I guess I mean the coasting feature then.
  2. The MPG figures you're getting seem quite low - are you making good use of the coasting and cylinder de-activation technology? I've adjusted my driving style to encourage the car to shut down cylinders or coast and it does really help to improve MPG. I've got the 2.0L petrol DSG and would be disappointed with below 50 MPG on the sort of journey you are describing. I'm sure you know this but try sticking to 55-60 mph, that's the efficiency sweet spot.
  3. Hi Gareth, Thanks for the reply. I'm very pleased to say I finally resolved the rattle. I managed to recreate the sound while the car was stationary and after much trial and error I realised that pressing down hard on the dash near the A pillar and windscreen totally resolved the issue. I have a temporary fix in place (pic below) but will take it in to Audi for a proper fix. All the best, Omar
  4. Unfortunately they won't provide a courtesy car because of COVID - I think some companies are using COVID as an excuse to downgrade their customer service, I know other companies that are providing courtesy cars. The cars just need a clean and they're ready for the next customer.
  5. Thanks Steve, you are right I should take it back but I think they might just fob me off again. They won't provide a courtesy car so it's a real hassle leaving the car with them because my wife needs it to get to work. These are the sorts of jobs they hate, the really lengthy ones that are done under warranty. But overall I'm not impressed, it doesn't feel like you're dealing with a premium brand.
  6. It is so maddening taking it in for days and then being told it's fixed when it's not, I don't think I've got the stomach for it again. I was hoping someone has had a similar issue and there might be a simple fix.
  7. Wondering if anyone is experiencing a rattle/knocking sound on the passenger side of the dash. It sounds like it's coming from the A pillar area but pressing down on the dash, vents and the A pillar does not resolve it. It only happens over rough surfaces and bumps and sounds like hard surfaces hitting each other. It's been into the dealers twice for several days and they've claimed to have resolved a clip issue in the door card and applied felt and lubricated the A pillar but the sound remains. Here's a link to a video of the sound, any ideas? It's the only thing that is spoiling an otherwise great car.
  8. Thanks Steve. I think I may have found the issue. A bit of the weatherstrip between the little black triangle on the drivers door and the door frame was squashed in and leaving a little gap. I pried it out and the wind noise has noticeably reduced, it's still there slightly but much better. I think I may have to replace the weatherstrip to get a perfect fit to eliminate the noise completely. Interestingly I think my previous owner may have had the same issue on the passenger side because I could see marks on the body work where someone has clearly tried to work on that bit of weatherstrip.
  9. I've been experiencing wind noise in the driver's door when driving from 60mph and over. It sounds like the window isn't quite shut but I have closed the window as far as it will go. All the door seals and weather strips look fine and so does the wing mirror. Has anyone else had this issue?
  10. Just to update, I bought Michelin Primacy 4 and I'm very happy with them, they suit the car very well. They seem pretty quiet and help provide a soft and comfortable ride. Omar
  11. Hi Gareth, Thank you, that is helpful. It does make sense that tyres will produce more noise as they wear. I guess I was just disappointed that the exceptional refinement of the car was being spoiled by significant road noise. I will try fitting a set of new tyres from a premium brand and I'm sure that will help. Kind regards, Omar
  12. Hi everyone, I'm a proud new owner of an A4 Sport 18 plate. The car comes with 17 inch wheels and the front tyres look like they need replacing (they've done 17k miles and tread is low). They are fitted with the original Hankook K117s and to be honest I'm disappointed with the level of road noise. Has anyone else noticed the road noise being an issue with these tyres and can anyone recommend quieter ones? Thanks.
