  1. Hi Steve Q did say it was similar not an exact video so room for poetic licence and imagination, worse ways it gives you a clue as to what to do.
  2. Hi the trunking is what carries the air from the intake through the air filter box and then into the turbo, subject to your video I would definitely be checking the rubber turbo hoses first before replacing the induction parts. Steve.
  3. Well done Tony, the older repair kits are cheaper as the market for them is diminishing and no parts supplier wants a few hundred of the kits for garden ornaments. Steve.
  4. Hi no as there is no plan to introduce Nox testing equipment in to the MOT test because the world of government thinks we are all going to be charging around in electric cars in another seven years, where's the charging infrastructure. Steve.
  5. Hi hazard a guess its the trunking either side of the airbox, as it gets older the plastic deteriorates and allows extra air in. Steve.
  6. Hi is that so many different types of bird or lugs?, if you strip the front scuttle panel that runs across the front of the radiator the part number should be on the top of the headlight, plumb that in and the fact you need a lug repair kit and based on the right part number a kit should appear. Steve.
  7. Hi no if you look at the dynamics of SCR the adblue only converts the Nox particles from one to two the addition of a 80% water solution into the steam makes the oil soot particles sticky and harder to burn, I am thinking of having mine deleted and there is nothing wrong with my system the car is now on its third EGR cooler which like the others was blocked with adblue crystals and a sticky tar like mess that hasn't been burned properly and at about £900 every fifteen months is bordering on stupid, the thing that screws the DPF is if you have theEGR mapped out as that allows the gas to be a lot hotter and start to melt the Turbo Steve.
  8. Hi Steve, the car won't rev above 2500 standing because it has a built in rev limiter to stop that sort of activity and the moronic element from smashing the granny out of the cam belt and valve gear, it ain't like the old days where some used to get a kick out of listening to valve gear bounce and compression rings chattering, the whole process works on reciprocal force I.E. weight counterforce against the driven speed of the engine, the two forces balance each other out. Steve.
  9. Hi myself and other members have nailed this one a few times, Pagid are eurocarparts own brand and carry neither E11 or E9 certification Brembo will as will Febi Blueprint EBC and Mintex, please read up on the net about E11/E9 that will explain all about the ratings and why, the best fluid is Comma ESP 4 as it is rated for all VAG/MERC/BMW anything cheaper will eat the seals over time, best stuff for lubricating slider pins is silicone grease and for the pad sliding surfaces on the callipers a thin smear of copper grease. Live Long and Prosper. Steve.
  10. Hi you can always get the adblue mapped out, end of problem. Steve.
  11. Hi its all about being spiteful because they don't like the fact we have deserted the E.U. tried to get a right hand drive o/s headlight for my car from the dealers but they want £1100 for the bare unit and won't guarantee the new one unless I buy the bulbs and ballast with it from them, that brings it up to £1750, so I bought a refurbed unit in the end for £650 apparently if I had ordered the dealer part I could have paid for it but they couldn't promise I would get it before Dec 23. Steve.
  12. Hi the oil coming out is where the pump is spraying oil up to the cylinder head and fly's off of the cam lobes as they turn over, I think your problem is most likely the in tank fuel pump under the back seat as when that goes that would give the low fuel pressure code as its not supplying enough fuel to the high pressure pump on the engine. Steve.
  13. Hi what you are referring to is VCDS, not sure what a plopper is but VCDS is better than most generic scanners as it gives fault codes the amount of times they have occurred, the times they occurred and the offending part number, it does all VAG vehicles Seat, Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda. Steve.
  14. Hi the hub is a one piece unit get the speed sensor out and brush the crud off of the ends of the bolt threads and soak the threads with plus gas if you leave it for an hour it should penetrate use a good quality ring spanner and once loose work the bolts loose and then back and forth while hosing down the threaded bit with release agent, failing that heat the threaded end housing with a blowtorch then try, if you use a puller you will annihilate the bearing as they are pressed on to the hub at the factory, the bearing will follow the hub as it comes off. Steve
  15. Hi you offer up the bulb to the holder with the writing on the back of the bulb casing so you can read it then tilt the bulb casing about thirty degrees to the left then with light pressure toward the light unit twist the bulb in you should feel it locate in the mounting, when it does twist the bulb to its straight position, it should lock unless you bent something pulling it out, getting it out is the same only reversed. Steve.
  16. Hi you will be fine, they won't do that again, believe me once properly fitted it will be bullet proof like the ones on my A6 I use it as a cab and because I am pre-booked only they come over and yank the handles like crazy to get in which is no good when the doors are all locked from the inside, 155,000 miles and numerous attempts for unauthorised entry I have not lost a handle yet, no booking, no ride. Steve.
  17. Hi there should be a plastic grip brake under the bumper skin the lugs break off you can buy replacements on eBay which bolt or rivet onto the metal. Steve.
  18. Hi the only benefit from what they have done so far is the car milage isn't going up but that won't help you with the loss of your vehicle. Steve.
  19. Hi normally you take off the disc and calliper with the calliper mounting, this then exposes the bearing and dust plate and the mounting screws are visible. Steve.
  20. Hi much as I loath to say this it sounds like a dealer/IDOS job as this system runs a diagnostic and then tells the idiot running it how to step by step repair it, all part of the new A.I. strategy, I am assuming you won't be paying for the trip to Audi. Steve.
  21. Hi the LED units are hell and have to go through rigorous tests by the light control module to be accepted as there is no real manual adjustment its all fly by wire, thats why they cost three times as much new, only other question is the unit O.E. Genuine if not the only way is get a can bus bridge cable which fools the light module into thinking its the original unit. Steve.
  22. Hi do you know what system did the recode as I sure from 2017 on it will require the Audi/VW IDOS system. Steve.
  23. Hi everything is unique with them even if they are aware of a problem, tell them you want to back the vehicle as unfit for purpose that should draw a response, ask them if they supply stickers saying dear thief please open gently. Steve.
  24. Hi I think this does reflect the views of most of the forum, I think everyone who contributes regularly to this forum is sick of dealing with space cadets who never reply properly or let you know the outcome, he seems to know it all therefore why does he need us, we definitely don't need him, if he had got his answer straight away he would have cleared off and never been heard of again, in retrospect the post was bordering on illiterate thats why I try not to answer these the same as most people, why headbut a wall. Steve.
  25. Hi precisely, it won't work in reverse and give a warning when there is no weight, you have to have weight on it to push the two contact layers together the bottom layer has the sensor wires in it the top layer contains the earth side which triggers the alarm and if its that saggy its like the bottom is running away from the top. Steve.
