Hi have a look at the lower front rear arm bushes common fault. Steve.
-
Much as as hate to point this out the pressure pad only works when the seatbelt is unplugged and the pad senses weight over two kilos, bag of shopping, when the belt pin is fastened this cancels out the pad sensor in the seat cushion and as the belt clip has overall command of the other functions in the seats electronics ie drivers side won't release the handbrake automatically unless the belt is plugged in. Steve.
-
Hi which side is it, either way its the bit that the belt plugs in to give it a blast wit contact cleaner whilst working the red plunger up and down then give it some WD40 if that won't work then chaste wire that runs down the side of it to the junction box under the seat unplug it and clean that with electrical cleaner, that should cure it if not its a new seatbelt stalk. Steve.

Hi it probably needs a fan control unit, the silver box on the fan pack, some you can just replace others come as the whole lot fans and control boxes, get the numbers off of your unit and look around, the other thing to look at is the coolant temp sensor as that can cause the same problem, best policy get it scanned for faults first. Steve.

Hi its probably a fault in the wiring loom from the tank which is fairly easy to replace. Steve.
-
Hi if you can pump the pedal up its the master cylinder around £160 from Audi, where the rest of the money comes from I can't imagine its only a three hour job, if I was you I would definitely get a few other quotes based on what is the fault, I do hate this when the garages get inventive with pricing. Steve.

Hi the rotting of the tubes is caused by Bi Metal corrosion unfortunately steel and alloy don't get on. Steve.

Juddering that came & went, now seized offside front caliper

Hi its the calliper easy enough to replace and not to expensive, you will also need a new set of pads and a flexible hose as they collapse inside I had it on my car a few months ago. Steve. -
Hi as said the best way is get underneath and get the cover off to see where its coming from, beading or not its not normal. Steve.

A3 2.0 FSI 2003 Stalling after working for some time
Stevey Y replied to Onumara's topic in Audi A3 (8P) Forum
Hi the only way you will find a clue to what is going on is to have the car scanned with VCDS or similar. Steve. -
Hi the slave and bearing are all one piece the slave is about £100 on eBay, genuine part, then you will need the seal that goes in the middle of it, Mark is right its nothing like any other car I have worked on as the driveshaft runs in the middle of the flywheel edge so when you remove the driveshaft you have to replace that seal as well and to remove the old seal you have to remove the diff housing as the seal is fitted inside that, yes its a monumental task I didn't do mine but the guy that did it is a friend and I was there for nine hours on cleaning and tea detail so I saw the whole process including when the clutch master cylinder wouldn't pressure up, if you buy these cars there are a good few items that aint cheap but shopping around gets it cheaper, like my mates MK2 Escort clutch £140 but for anything later those days are long gone.

Hi the only way is to buy a new starter based on your VIN, my guess is its an eight tooth dog gear. Steve.
-
Hi it would be very helpful if you can find out what the code was that came up, my hunch is it was p2002 which is particle filter bank 1, thats the EGR cooler which is notorious for blocking and no amount of regeneration will cure that, what happens is the car regenerates as normal but the cooler stays blocked, try giving it a bottle of Wynns/Redex DPF cleaner it should alleviate the problem for a bit but the dealer needs to re scan it and give you the code as well as check the soot load of the DPF which should be under 60 grams. Steve.
-
Hi, to begin with is it diesel/petrol?, also what do you mean by emissions control light EML or DPF symbol, the easiest solution is get it scanned and come back with the codes. Steve.
-
Hi probably the wrong starter, before you changed it did you count how many teeth on the starter dog gear as its quite a common problem I had it on my old Mondeos the parts place I bought the replacement from were adamant the 2.0 would fit the 2.2, wrong! the 2.2 unit had a 10 tooth dog gear and the 2.0 had eleven teeth so is all it did was jam onto the side of the flywheel and whiz round. Steve.

Hi if the slave cylinder gives out it sprays the clutch pressure plate and driven plate with clutch fluid, it would be financial suicide to just replace the flywheel as the whole clutch wears as a set so you would have a driven plate and pressure plate with no definitive milage trying to bed in on a new flywheel, the flywheel alone is over £500 and if the old clutch kills the new flywheel that is money down the drain, its a major strip down and apart from the clutch kit you will need a new driveshaft and radial shaft seals Steve..
-
Hi they are about a £100 for the metal variety and £60 for the plastic version. Steve.

Is there a genuine parts database for Audi?
Stevey Y replied to Collettes Dad's topic in Audi Q3 Club
Hi wouldn't worry about the genuine parts bit as they all use aftermarket belt kits in their boxes hence the price from Audi, wanna pay extra for a box with Audi on it, you can't go wrong with Gates or Dayco thats what my daughters car is running changed over two years ago and no dramas. Steve. -
Hi get a fine dress making pin stick it in the washer jet and by trial and error adjust the little ball valve which moves inside the housing, its a bit of a drama but you will soon get the hang of how far to move each jet and in which direction. Steve.

Hi you can't have it mapped out individually so as there are two EGR valves the one on the cooler thats inside the DPF and another high pressure valve on the intake manifold, if you can find someone that can map out both thats fine except for the higher exhaust temperature will then start to kill the Turbo, you can't blank the low pressure cooler because its actually inside the DPF and even if you took it out and blocked all the cooling tubes you would be left with a permanent EML as it thinks its still blocked, its easier to buy a new cooler,NOT FROM AUDI, at £400 + just for the cooler £750+ for the valve and cooler which whatever dealer you speak to they claim the cooler and valve come as a set, I have just had to buy another cooler as the one I fitted now has 65k on it my A6 is a cab and the lights beginning to pop up randomly but I did some research and bought an NRF unit from parts in motion on eBay £256, the oe part number is 04L 131 512. Steve.

Hi probably the release bearing on the slave cylinder as it has no hydraulic pressure to keep it in place, its probably knackered which is why its noisy, how many miles has the clutch done. Steve.
-
Hi did you reprogram the injectors when you fitted them, and were the injectors new, the only other way to find out is scan the car for faults this will tell you whats going on, its not an airlock as once running the HPFP is self bleeding. Steve.
-
Hi it could be part of the heater matrix has collapsed so it might be leaking inside the car so you won't see it, check for moisture under carpets where they run along front bulkhead and above pedal box, if it was the oil cooler you would see water in the oil or oil in the header tank which manifests itself as little black dots in the coolant. Steve.

Hi I doubt its done any damage but if you have to do that put the car in first then start it, if the slave cylinder inside the gearbox is gone most likely that the master cylinder will need to be replaced as well as the pedal going to the floor will have overrun the seals on the master cylinder. Steve.

Hi in view of the age of your vehicle its most likely INA don't produce the belt for your car, therefore you bought your first bit of aftermarket in a badge engineered box which is what I have been driving at, they will put anything in a box with Audi on it and sell it at a much higher price, so as I said they don't design kits at Audis say so and you could have probably got the same kit for less on line. Steve.
