  1. Hi the sensor you want is built in to no3 cylinder glow plug, I had to change mine recently its just over a hundred quid and a sweaty palms time changing it as they are known for snapping off if they are stuck, I changed mine using a torque wrench at 20nm to undo if it wants more than that leave the plug chamber soaking in Plusgas overnight the other thing is when changing make sure the engine is HOT and tighten to no more than 17nm. I have posted on this subject on the A6 C7 part of the forum. Steve.
  2. HI its about the best combo I have used there is another but at about £60 for the kit I fear the Bentley owners can have my share apart from which the Bentley leather is dyed hide where as ours is spray painted. Steve.
  3. Hi excellent just do all four, and please clear the fault codes its the only way forward, if you don't want to do it that way bleeding wise just do both rears first and then both fronts. Steve.
  4. Keep going Kev, like I said you seem very capable, I am chuffed for you. Steve.
  5. Hi has anybody else noticed the dates on these codes, the youngest is 2020 I don't think he has cleared the codes as suggested which would clear the memory capacity so it would only flag up current DTCs, if you don't clear the faults and the memory is full you won't get anything new. Steve.
  6. Hi if you bleed all for wheels at once it won't give the air bubbles in the system time to creep off elsewhere as its being flushed out, like I said you need a good supply of fluid and a litre gravity feed bottle in the master cylinder reservoir. Steve.
  7. Hi why did you not put this information in the first post it would certainly have narrowed the possibilities down, I think thats why Kev thought it was a wind up.
  8. Hi a new belt and tensioner with the idler pulley will stop it all. Steve.
  9. Hi if you dipped the oil after a change and a small run it will be black as diesel produces far greater carbon inside the engine than petrol engines in which the oil can still be fairly clear after a couple of thousand miles. Steve.
  10. Hi the part that throws that code is normally the VVT solenoid which is easy to replace/clean, try ZAP7 for the diagram, the VVT solenoid is operated with oil pressure and can play up if the oil used is the wrong grade or excessively dirty I personally think its got nothing to do with the cam adjuster pulley and a new VVT solenoid is probably just over £100 for a good OEM part. Steve.
  11. Hi bang on more or less as when a sensor is failing the ECU reverts to a strategy that involves fuel enrichment, this is to stop it running lean which burns valves and pistons, over fueling is a distinct possibility. Steve.
  12. Hi have you had the oil level checked, chances are that if its been beasted up and down the motorway the oil is knackered although it sounds like a diminishing oil level to me ,get the oil changed and add the Slick 50 its the cheapest option. Steve.
  13. Sound advice Steve but I don't think its what he wanted to hear, you know whats going to happen when the term cheap fix is mentioned, there are not any cheap fixes just cheaper. Steve.
  14. Hi this one has been bashed to death, the only people who have the dipsticks are the Americans and they charge a fortune for the dipsticks and shipping not forgetting the possible customs charges thats why I gave up with my one and bought a new level sensor when the old one went wrong, they are easy to change and about a third of the price of a metal rod with a yellow ring on the end of it, as for the level sensor that misbehaves if you open and close the bonnet too many times as there is a sensor on the bonnet mechanism that tells it to only display the last reading which is the one when you switch off so it shows low anyway. Steve.
  15. Hi tyre noise varies according to the type of road surface you are driving on yesterday I drove round the M25 on the Gatwick side and it sounded like hell until I got to the Heathrow side and it was all quite again because thats all been resurfaced with Tarmac and the Gatwick side is milled concrete. Steve.
  16. Hi Ryan the sensor you are changing is the one I guessed in previous post which is next to the Nox and OXYGEN SENSOR, the turbo is that thing above the three sensors together with what looks like a pastry cutter for a shield, the one you removed was in the cat so thats why it was caked in crud there is no sensor before the turbo as thats the fresh air intake because it works in reverse to conventional systems to the point where there is an exhaust flap as the pipe leaves the engine to divert exhaust gas back into the engine through the low pressure EGR valve the other side of the DPF via a gas cooler so in essence we are the proud owners of two EGR valves. Steve.
  17. Hi I have power bled systems before after fitting a new ABS unit and rarely had a problem in all fairness you will be best served to use clear tube bleed pipe and have all four bleed nipples open and a gallon of brake fluid, should clear all bubbles after two and a half litres, nice paint again well done. Steve.
  18. Hi all shock absorbers use oil/gas which is separated by a membrane the high pressure nitrogen gas stabilises the oil to prevent it getting air bubbles or foaming [cavitation], the most efficient use of oil/gas is the monotube design as twin tube is used more universally as its cheaper to produce I.E. KYB,SACHS,MONROE, go another level Bilstein B4 up use monotube technology, Bilstein B6s are monotube with the added advantage that the front units have no exterior bump stops as these are built into the bottom of the shock which gives greater stability under heavy damping. Steve.
  19. Hi it would require a lot of cutting and probably coding to fit, get your existing dash repaired, try ECU Testing, believe me there is no cheap fix for your problem even if you get a second hand unit it will require coding to the car. Steve.
  20. Hi Ryan there are three sensors in all my most educated guess is its the one next to the Nox andOxygen sensors in front of the turbo but before the Cat, I have pictures and diagrams from my parts system, all three have the same part number but end with a different letter which is the usual cr@p way of making out they are different.
  21. Hi yes as each module only has a limited life span unlike the Ford modules you can't diagnostically clear all the information, back to factory and they relearn their info from scratch. Steve.
  22. Hi I am in the same boat my missus has chronic COPD so even washing up gets her breathless that is until we go round TK MAXX, try the pressure bleed as the ABS unit can't loose all of its fluid as the detent valves on the out flow shut off when the system pressure is lost. Steve
  23. Hi you can try good old fashioned pedal pumping with an assistant or buy an EZEEBLEED kit. Steve.
  24. The bit you are looking at was the old manual control method, its all controlled through the box automatically now, I think you may be over thinking this problem as the module controls the beam height . Steve.
  25. Hi as soon as I can find out I will post a picture if possible or a boring in depth description of its whereabouts. Steve.
