Hi I am certain you only have the one shown as that has both pipes for measuring the pressure before the DPF and after the DPF there would be no point in having two sensors I suspect the one behind might only have one pipe and that would be to do with boost control or MAP pressure. Steve.

Hi at a push get an engineers report from your local independent, Audi won't like that as is smells of a court case if they are wrong, my experience is most dealerships use wannabe mechanics as they are cheap to hire and do whatever and say whatever the service manager tells them, most real specialist mechanics run privately or have their own premises therefore living on their reputation. Steve.

Thinking about it it could well be the DPF pressure sensor as the ECU uses that and algorithm to do a soot mass calculation and for what a decent sensor costs its worth a go. Steve.
-
Have you got a code for the DPF sensor as this will show as reading high. Also is it VCDS you are using as the live data for the sensor should give you an indication of its operating values. Steve. Steve.

Hi sorry it looks like your tied to them, prepare yourself for a ton of vague and B/S reasons as to why there is nothing wrong, after all their prime directive is not having to pay out, the best on the market is Warranty Wise who are independent so you get to choose your own garage. Steve.

Hi you have hit the nail on the head, with the advent of cracked software the dealers are beginning to realise that a lot of stuff is now within the capabilities of Joe average thats why the push is on for electric as they are the only ones with the equipment to analyse faults this will put us DIY folk back at least twenty years and think of how much money they can grasp in that time. Steve.

Hi second one down is what it thinks its got, the third one down is what its got real time, this is really strange also is the DPF light still on? and is all the reductant pump information still present. Steve.
-
Hi sorry what are your current Soot/Ash loadings and what has cut out am a bit confused. Steve.
-
Hi when you consider my mates A6 ABS unit was a shade under eighteen hundred quid plus fitting, they wouldn't warranty the part without them fitting it, the two hundred quid he paid was a fraction of the price. Steve.

Hi if it wasn't purchased from an Audi dealer then its worth asking the Indie if they want to get involved, TBH you couldn't see the true extent of the wear on my car until we had removed the front mounts and could see the extent of the rubber deterioration and leakage as the rubber mount face inwards and there is no way of seeing them clearly, the rear mount was obvious as it was like a Rowntrees jelly compared with the new one. Steve.

Hi, no problem, I have used this company several time over the past couple of years and their customer service is second to none, most recent was the father in laws 02 Volvo instrument cluster on which half the gauges and lights were out, sent it off ,the next day got a text and email saying it was repairable and I had been assigned an engineer, got it back a day later with a little note telling me it was now plug in and play, they did my mates ABS pump a three day turn round and again no coding, I asked a mate of mine who retcons alternators and he explained he gets round coded alternators by putting in a shunt which the ECU recognises. Steve.

Hi the timing out is so you don't cook the car, did you delete the light and codes before trying to regen as it won't work with the light/codes still present, delete and try again also did you have a look at the soot/ash loadings after the run. Steve.
-
Hi if you need a cluster repair as they say up north there is Nowt finer than ECU Testing. Steve.

Hi Kev its all about the filters in the box. Steve.

Hi most Adblue deletes are legally sold on the understanding that the the car will not be driven on public roads therefore they are able to do it, lots of people have this done which is fine until the government introduce the new legislation and particle analysing equipment in to the MOT system, its coming, the Adblue helps with regeneration of the DPF, which in your case allied to the extra fuel used with the remap and the lack of Adblue may result in the regeneration cycle not being of sufficient duration to clear the soot particles and as Audi use a very low soot/ash calculation will cause it to block more quickly so try a forced regeneration as from your data the fault has only occurred once. Steve.

Hi, no they will only make a noise when they have spat out all the oil and shredded the bonded rubber mount, my only clue was the rocking of the engine when revved and as mine is manual the worn gearbox mounting made it hard to engage first and second the other sign was the gearstick was moving excessively when accelerating or decelerating so I just changed all three as they wear as a set fortunately the gearbox mount is solid rubber and not that hard to change but the engine mounts are, one had started to lose oil and both sides the rubber was creased and beginning to split. Steve.

Hi as far as I am aware its at the bottom or near the air filter box its function is to draw in warm air from the engine when the ambient air coming in is to cold, it helps the engine warm up.
-
Hi Steve is right I have had to change my engine/ gearbox mounts they normally start going sideways at about 80k or five years, they are what is known as Hydro mounts I don't know why because they are full of oil not water and electronically controlled. Steve.

Hi no problem but the thing I forgot was if your BMS function requires a code to reset it use the code off the original unit and just change one digit on the last three digits on the original code, that should fool it as if you use the original code alone the daft system thinks its the same battery as it all ready knows about and will overcharge the new unit, hopefully I car soft has the same system as Snap on and just tells it the battery is new and to get on with it. Shame about the lack of supply in your area as where I live in Essex on a Saturday if you even mention new battery the grappling hooks come out in legions to try and get your wallet. Steve.
-
Come on Steve you expect it on a Fix Or Repair Daily, believe me I had three of em and it was like painting the Golden Gate bridge, you get to the end and start on the beginning again. Steve.

Hi Kev try gabbing OBD Eleven it pretty good even at entry level and is definitely VAG specific and has a fearsome amount of options regarding re adaption/ coding and has invasive interrogation on the pro version, have a read up on the internet before choosing which version there are guys on here using it with good reviews. Last but not least when changing the battery have another spare battery connected to the jump points under the bonnet as this will provide power continuity when you disconnect the old unit and stop things like the window operation and central locking losing their adaptations, just remember to be very careful with the red lead on the battery as it will still be hot from the donor battery voltage, I found wrapping a marigold glove round it when disconnected normally stops it touching things it shouldn't. Steve.

Hi, good idea changing the hand brake cables as if one is slightly seized it will hold that calliper on slightly and have a massive heat up and cook the calliper, most calliper problems are caused by dirty brake fluid which contains to much water as brake fluid is Hydroscopic and will absorb loads of water which lays in the piston housing and rots it to the calliper body. Steve.

Hi Kev the battery if knackered will cause all sorts of problems and yes its in the boot, rule of thumb is never replace any part based on a U code and the other question is has the gearbox ever had a service, the problem with Delphi software is its a shade vague on descriptions of faults but intermittent looks very much like the battery, if you get a new one regardless of make it must match the original unit in every specification, physical size and cranking amps etc and it will need to be coded to the car or you will kill the new unit in record time. Steve.

Clutch Pedal Switch for Engine Start (F194) Fault
Stevey Y replied to evopilot's topic in Audi A6 (C7) Forum
Hi try these Andrew, the further you dig in on the NHTSA site the more appalling the list of TSBs become apparently unknown in Europe do you think they set out to supply the yanks with substandard models I think not, its clear the Krauts have been working on the theory if they don't tell us we can't moan. -
Clutch Pedal Switch for Engine Start (F194) Fault
Stevey Y replied to evopilot's topic in Audi A6 (C7) Forum
Hi Andrew got this off an American website it may well be worth a look its a relay that is causing the problem although your car is a 15 plate it might be the relay if you read the blog, its for left hand drive but if you transpose the diagrams they are exactly what we have on our cars.
