Hi a deep sigh of relief well done.
-
Hi try this, are there any gearbox specialist in your area, sorry neck of the woods is an old term for where you live.
-
Hi don't bother with terra clean as I have known people to have that process and still end up replacing the offending parts, if you look at it it logically if you clean the EGR and throttle body and one or both items especially the EGR are worn out the cleaning won't cure that problem you still have to buy a new unit that way you have lost the money for the cleaning and the parts, these things are all good if done regularly from new, my advice would be clean what you have and see what occurs. Steve.

Hi it sounds as though the cam belt timing has slipped and locked the cams, have a word with Regal Engines in Purfleet in Essex, its a long way from you but they are about the most honest and helpful people I have ever dealt with. Steve.

Hi try cleaning the EGR as they are prone to playing up and not throwing codes up, if thats not working properly that would cause the first symptom as the EGR failing will fill the throttle body with gunge so it can't get to the required position quickly enough, the throttle body normally only throws a code when it starts to get well and truly stuck. Steve.

Hi Google in Mercedes owner £15,000 battery replacement, he paid £27,000 for the car four years ago and its now worth £12,000 at eight years old if its on its toes, his will be worth that if he buys a new battery for £15,000 and pays the £200 an hour to fit it, most expensive front garden ornament I ever heard of and scrap its worth £500 if he can find a scrap merchant thats licensed to dismantle it, as for the manufacturers I wonder what they will do when they price most of their customer base out you would have thought they would have learned from the lockdown when that near crucified them with the drop in sales, no they are just like all the the rest of the greedy corporations they are trying to claw back the loses which any decent accountant will tell you is and never will be feasible. I have a recurring nightmare that all forums in the future will be called the Electric Owners Club and the stock answer to any problem will be GO TO YOUR NEAREST DEALER as no one else will be able to fix it, then as an owner you might as well ask if they will take your house as part payment or alternatively buy a Horse to get about on, and you know what the weather will still do whatever it wants I liked Shytots quote about living in caves and eating vegetables whilst still being cold. Steve.

Hi , is it me or does it seem like we are going to be forced in to high priced electric vehicles, I wouldn't mind betting that in ten years second hand conventional vehicles will be making telephone number prices and Audis hard won market share will be reduced as its only the rich and those that know nothing about cars and want a serious second mortgage that will be buying them, one of my friends last year purchased an all electric Kia Niro, Mr got to have the latest tech is now thoroughly Pixxed off with it as the recent cold snap has cut his battery range even further, you can be told the technology is ever improving I find that about as plausible as us ever eradicating Covid but it seems they will yet force us to buy these things by using the much over used statement that its better for the environment a statement that is on par with the story of the kings new clothes. Depressing isn't it. Steve.

Hi the float will be attached to the new lift pump it sounds like it could be a collapsed or blocked fuel line start by removing the feed pipe to the filter housing and see if it pumps out fuel when the ignition is cycled if it does it could be you have a dodgy fuel rail pressure sensor. Steve.

Code P2755 transmission fluid cooler control circuit high
Stevey Y replied to Asad's topic in Audi A6 (C7) Forum
Hi the throttle position sensor is most likely the throttle body gunged up the other two are random and would not affect the driving of the car also look at servicing the gearbox, new filters and oil. Steve. -
Hi just make sure whoever fits them gets the springs the right way up. Steve.
-
Hi worse case scenario is get another plug from the breakers with a suitable amount of wire left on it at cut and shut the wiring and solder it together. Steve.
-
Hi its probably the fan control unit on the fan pack, big silver box on the fan housing. STEVE.
-
Hi have you any transmission rebuilders in your neck of the woods as they keep parts like that from units they have scrapped along with other serviceable parts. Steve.

Hi Budget tyre won't help, Prestivo is not one I have ever heard of, example being as a cab I use a lot of rubber in a good year so went to my local tyre supplier for new fronts, as he didn't have my usual Nexen tyres in my size he asked me to trial these new tyres he was thinking of selling called Stomil, ok I said, as soon as I reached the first roundabout all hell broke loose and it sounded like both front bearings had collapsed so I took it back and gave him a test drive, he wasn't impressed so he fitted the only other tyres he had in that size Semprit which were dearer but wouldn't take the difference in the price, these were about as quite as you can get with a 68db noise rating and peace was restored, there are so many mid range good tyres out there, Next ,Debica, Roadstone, Mid range is as low as I go. Steve.

Failed DRC suspension system - should I go for shocks or coilovers?
Stevey Y replied to Budgie88's topic in Audi RS Club
Hi have you thought about having the system recharged as over time the fluid degrades and the connecting pipes leak. Steve. -
Hi I spent a couple of years buying tailgate handles for my Mondeos at £40 a pop, after every winter going into spring they would start mucking about eventually bought the Chinese version which was only £10 so bought two and have never used the other one, some of the stuff they do is pretty robust for the money. Steve.

Hi give it a good soak in WD then using a small electrical screwdriver under that square tang at the front next to the pink square and prise it gently out whilst pulling it away from the tank, once you get it going give it a wiggle and it should fall off, don't be surprised if the tang snaps off but thats no major drama as its a tight fit anyway and you can put a good quality ty wrap on it just to give it a bit of extra squeeze. Steve.

Hi Shaf the first picture nails it as you can plainly see the top of the spring is not sitting in the spring mount and has one coil wrapped around the top of the spring mounting if you look at the other picture as this one its sitting in the top mount on its rubber vibration cushion, technically you should always replace springs in pairs as what is classed as the good side has a fair amount of corrosion at the top, tbh the bad side looks like its been fitted upside down. Steve.

Hi sounds like they changed it for a standard ride height shock, the S line will have factory tuned suspension which is normally 20mm lower. Steve.
-
Hi I don't know about voltage expected or otherwise, if you can post a picture of the plug on the sender that would be good then we can get a good look at the release mechanism, I think the plug may have corrosion within its connection holes so if you can get it off the smart and cheap way would be drown it in contact cleaner and try again. Steve.

Hi Max I would recommend one of the pro units as they do a couple on eBay that work with Android and IOS which would save having to get another phone it also has a 200 credit pack included, if you look on youtube their are a couple of tutorials on what it does and how to set it up, Carista and Carly are both cheap and won't do what you want as for the money they are a bit limited in their ability to interrogate the ECU, do a bit of online research or alternatively email the supplier first and tell them what you need. going back to your first posts two questions did you have the new battery coded and where did you get the dash reworked?. Steve.

Rear right indicator LED not working inner boot
Stevey Y replied to Asad's topic in Audi A6 (C7) Forum
Hi the bulb in the picture is halogen and a Euro bulb with offset pins it should have the wattage etc on the side they are pretty cheap to buy, if the LED has gone its scrap but there are plenty about on the net either s/h or aftermarket. Steve. -
Hi Nathan is all we got was a post on the previous replies but no post from your self.

Xenon bulbs flickering and getting dull
Stevey Y replied to steviethemilky's topic in Audi A3 (8P) Forum
Hi you can get the bulbs cheaper on eBay and with the flickering in mind you will need to buy new ballast units, 99% of the bulbs on eBay are E marked so therefore are road legal, Limastar and Lumex are a good shout and still E marked on the higher Kelvin options. Steve.
