Haha it does go well More of a refined tourer than a sports car, but it can move when it need too. Only downside is 15mpg if you drive enthusiastically!

I would guess that this is a bumper off job to gain access to it. A few years ago i took the bumper off on mine, which was time consuming but a DIY job I followed a tutorial on Youtube (do a google search) but i know you will have to buy some long Torx screwdrivers if you don't have them already. You may actually be able just to slide it forward enough to gain access and not take it off completely. Also be careful lining it back up if you do have to remove it. I used lots of masking tape and marked the panel gaps to make sure it aligned correctly. Hope that gives some assistance.

just an update regulator was knackered and in bits got one from Ebay and fitted it today and all working again. Luckily ebay one was in good condition hope it lasts!

I would imagine if you wanted the car to remain original then it might be worth seeing if it can be repaired/replaced but i’m sure it won’t be cheap. The one i had was a rough example so that’s why i personally wasn’t worried about originality and went down the aftermarket route. lots of kits available luckily -

Hi, I had this on my old RS4 Avant a few years back and i went down the Coilover route. I fitted a Bilstein kit that i got from Awesome GTI and then had them fitted by a local garage. I will look up my old paperwork and see if i can find the model of the kit for you Even with adjusting them i did find them harder day to day than the original DRC. I can highly recommend W Andrews Autos in Old Welwyn, Herts (he's in the village). Wayne is a good mechanic and he has looked after my 06 S4 with the V8 for years. Regards -
yes very possible I've just been watching the Total Technik video on door card removal and window repair so i'm going to have a go myself. Just need to order some trim clips as i am an expert at breaking those!

Afternoon, I put the drivers side main window down this morning and it won't come back up. The switch still seems to operate all of the other windows in the car, apart from the drivers side The electric mirrors and door lock controls all still work. The drivers window will from time to time move a bit when you activate the switch, but i can't get it to come all the way up I also cannot hear the 'click' when i pull up the switch for that window. I will take the switch out later and clean the electrical contacts, but any other advice appreciated. Many thanks

I also thought about doing this but haven't taken the plunge yet! Anyway all of the parts and the tools seemed to be available through Autodoc. However there is discussion on other forums which recommend only using an OEM timing chain kit which you can get from the Main Dealer. Up to Xmas these were on back order but i don't know now. As for the tooling if you keep an eye on Autodoc they often have discount codes, so may be worth buying with one of those. Again expect couple of weeks delivery time

Hi When i first got mine, I also had some wind noise. It always seemed to come from behind me. It was a fiddly job but i solved it by sourcing some second hand window seals for the rear windows and changing them. I have to admit it was a tricky job and took me ages and does involve manually opening the roof and soft top compartment to get access -
Yes they are excellent I have seen that they do a video detailing the complete engine out but i'm not brave enough or have the space to do that myself. I have spoken to a couple of other specialists and just waiting for some quotes. I could leave it but it's annoying me now!

Afternoon, I am struggling to find a professional to do a timing chain replacement for me and solve an oil leak. I have contacted a lot of places (inc Audi specialists) and they won't take it on. I would be very grateful if someone could recommend someone from the job (ideally in the Leicestershire area) Many thanks

Hi i would look into the possibility of a blocked aircon drain hose. In a few Audi models this runs from behind the dash under the carpet and can block and the water back up and cause those issues. I don’t know the A1 but if it’s in warranty worth mentioning to the dealer ive had this issue in my A4 an old A3 and in my wife’s Polo Gti Ta

Afternoon, I have a headlight bulb (xenon/HID type) that has failed on my B7 S4 cabriolet. I have found a good few guides on how to change them, but what bulbs do people recommend and where is best to buy from. There are various cheap versions on Ebay and Amazon, but perhaps i should stay away from those! Any pointers appreciated Thanks

Hi It depends on whether you will be taking it on track or just 'fast' road use. In the past my first point of call has been replacing the brake fluid with something with a higher boiling point and then a set of braided brake hoses which in most cases improves the brake feel. After that the next stage would be upgraded brake pads and discs. My personal choice on a few of my cars has been the Ferrodo DS range. There is a lot of internet debate on changing pads and discs at the same time, but if you are watching the budget you can just change the pads as long as your discs are in good shape. In the past with my old track cars i have also had brake discs 'skimmed' which is cost effective BUT don't compromise on safety! The last stage would be to upgrade the calipers and discs, but this is generally quite costly depending on what you go for.

Hi I want to install the hardwire kit for my Nextbase Dashcam Everything is fine on the install but just curious to know how to remove the A Pillar trim without damage so that i can run the power lead for the dashcam. Do i need to remove the sunvisor or is it just a case of gently easing out the trim with some trim removal tools? Any help/pointers appreciated

Hi Gareth, Thanks for the response My main Audi dealer were less than helpful, but i don't mind where i get the part from. I have attached some photos of the perished seal and it's about 10" that need replacing, but it looks as if it is the whole seal that will need to be changed. Anyone who can supply that would be great Regards

Hi, Could anyone point me in the direction of where to buy some seals for the bottom of the body (not the seal on the doors themselves) Mine have perished and rain water is beginning to get into the car. Car is a 2006 S4 Cabriolet Many thanks

Evening, So after a random message, i have managed to buy back my old S4 Cabrio that i previously owned a few years ago from the family that i sold it to. It's been well looked after and although miles have piled on i couldn't resist and it's now back on my driveway. Look forward to being part of the club and spending a bit of time bringing the car back to it's former glory. First job will be a full machine polish and paint correction. Cheers
