  1. Hi i was just wondering if anybody knows what brand the standard shock absorbers are on a 1990 Audi coupe 2.3e B3. Ive researched this and all i can find out is that they are mcpherson struts. I think mcpherson is the actual suspension design but i could be wrong. Does anyone know what brand the standard shocks are or if not what would be the best shocks to buy for a comfertable ride and reasonable handling? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!!! Ian
  2. Hi ive got a 1990 Audi coupe 2.3e B3 that has a heater which isnt getting hot enough. Ive changed the coolant, thermostat, cleaned every hose, fixed a leaking hose, flushed and bled the system but although my heater is slightly warmer it isnt hot like it should be or was on my old coupe. Ive been doing a lot of research and found out that there is something called a heater actuator which has a blend door which should open to let heat into the cabin attached to the heater box located in the dashboard behind the heater controls. Although you need to take the dashboard out to fix this which is something i wouldnt feel confident enough to do i can get close to the heater box by going in through the glovebox once removed or by removing the facia panel under the dash above the pedals on the drivers side. What i need to know is does anyone know if the heater actuator is on the top of the heater box, below it, to the passenger side of it, to the drivers side of it or behind it. If i could find out then i can try and see it just incase the blend door isnt open enough and maybe i could get in there just enough to open it. Any help, advice or tips would be very much appreciated. Thanks Ian!!!
  3. Hi i was looking for some help on how to get to the interior temperature sender unit on my 1990 Audi coupe 2.3e B3? Ive been having a bit of a problem with the heater not being very warm lately and would like to get it sorted before winter. Ive flushed the cooling system and heater core, changed the thermostat and fixed a hose before replacing the coolant and bleeding the system. although slightly better than it was the heater isnt warm as it should be. Ive just ordered a interior temperature sender unit off ebay for around £15 but havent got a clue where its located or how to get to it. I cant see anything under the bonnet so my gut feeling is its under the dash. Does anyone know where its located and if i need to remove anything to get to it? Any tips or advice would be helpful and much appreciated. Thanks Ian!!!
  4. Hi Gareth thanks for replying.!!! ye removing the cat could effect the fuelling really. Might be better to leave it. Ive also thought the ecu might receive different figures from the lambda sensor and the car might not run properly. Thanks for helping. Its good to know these things. The cars running pretty nicely at the moment so dont want to cause any unnecessary problems. Thanks again!!!
  5. I was thinking to myself im sure Audi put the cat there for a reason but wondered what it would be like without it. Id still like to try changing it to see if theres any difference. If there wasnt or the car didnt run how it should i would always put the cat back on it. Its one of them if i dont try it il never know. Thanks anyway. Ian!!!
  6. Hi i was just wondering if anyone could help? I have a 1990 Audi coupe 2.3e ng engine B3 which has a cat on it but doesnt have to have one as the car was made before 1992. People have told me that the car would do more mpg and gain a few more bhp without the cat. Does anyone know where i could get a straight pipe to replace the cat with? Does anyone know of a website that would sell one or have a part number for this part if it is possible to buy this section? Any help or advice would be much appreciated. I could probably get one made but would rather buy a ready made one if possible. Thanks Ian!!!
  7. Hi i was just wondering if anybody knows if the water in the expansion tank of my Audi coupe B3 is suppose to be cold when the engine is at the operating temp? The water is flowing through the system fine and warm everywhere else in the system. Everything works as it should but the expansion tank is always cold. There is plenty of pressure. My gut feeling is it should be warm and i think it always has been on other cars ive owned. Could anyone please help? Thanks Ian!!!
  8. Thats a big help. Cheers Steve. Thanks!!!

Im just trying to change parts and then if it still has no spark then i can eliminate it from my list. Any tips would be grateful. Thanks Ian!!!
  12. Hi i have a 1993 audi coupe 2.3e ng engine b4 with no spark and the fuel pump wont prime either. The fuel pup relay has the code 208 on it but on my b3 coupe with the same engine the code is 215. Could anyone please tell me which relay is correct for the 1993 B4? This would be much appreciated. Thanks Ian!!!😞
  13. Hi im new to the forum and would be grateful if anyone could please help me. I have a 1993 audi coupe 2.3e ng engine B4 that has no spark. It has a new battery and the coil works as i tried it on my B3 with the same engine and it started. The coil module is ok and the plugs leads dizzy cap and rotar arm are all new. Ive been told that the car doesnt have a cam sensor but has an ignition pulse sensor in the distributor also known as eye of the distributor instead. I need to replace the crank sensor but cant find where it goes. Could anyone please tell me if they know? Any help or advice would be much appreciated! Thanks Ian!!!!
