  1. Hi John, Sorry to hear of your expensive engine problems, but i do think that Audi should have advised you that the timing belt was due change at 5 years. my car has been serviced with Audi from new, and on the bottom of the last 2 service invoices leading up to the car being 5 years old, it states that the timing belt/water pump is due change at that time. Please keep us informed of the outcome Brian.
  2. Hi Gareth, My engine is the 2ltr 190 diesel, I had my timing belt/ water pump replaced at 25,000. miles/5 years. regarding brake pads/disc etc, I usually change things like that myself. regarding breakdown cover, get you home/etc. is included. Regards Brian.
  3. Hi, I took Audi all in out back in November, then they had a special offer on for £539.00. I think it's good value, because 2 services will come to that amount, without 2 mot's, breakdown cover, and warranty. it is peace of mind for the next 2 years.
  4. Hi, I used to live in the highest village in Scotland for many years, driving an A4 FWD, we had some very bad snowfalls, I always had 2 spare wheels fitted with winter tyres, which I fitted to the front about November time, I found that with these tyres on, the car would go through very deep snow without a problem, believe me, they are well worth the extra expense. hope this helps Brian.
  5. Hi, The A 4 Allroad does NOT have air suspension, take my word for it, my brother, and I, have both had one in the past, we liked them that much, we are now running the b9 model 67/68 year. a great car all round. Brian.
  6. Hi, Could well be a combination of wide tyres plus low tread, Brian.
  7. Good Morning, Th extended warranty on my A4 Allroad b9 2017 tdi,, is due to expire on the 15/11/22. the car has only covered 27,000 miles in 5 years, and has been serviced by Audi main dealer since new. I am pondering whether to take out (Audi all in one) at £719.00. or just have the car serviced by an independent Audi garage in future (who I trust) . Your thoughts on this matter please. Brian.
  8. Pleased to see you got it sorted. Brian
  9. Chris, I took the outside route, if you are careful, you can remove the black plastic surround without breaking it, on mine there are 4 indentations in the plastic, (2 top/2at the bottom, you would need to cut a small slot in each one, then insert a screwdriver to prize the trim out. best of luck which ever way you go. Brian.
  10. Hi Chris, I have a 2017 A4 b9. I had the same problem earlier this year ( the fuel flap would not stay shut) I think you will find, that you have to remove the complete plastic moulding surrounding the fuel filler cap, to gain access to the locking mechanism, as you cannot gain access from inside the boot. try looking on u tube to see how it's done. Brian.
  11. the a4 jacking cushion has a slot in it to go over the sill. Brian.
  12. Hi, You can buy the rubber cushions on e bay just make sure u get one with the correct slot to fit the sil Brian.
  13. I too have an A4 Allroad 2017. B9, It looks just the same as your car in the picture, Brian.
  14. Hi, I have just been quoted £930,00. to have the cam belt & water pump changed by my local Audi dealer. A local vw audi specialist, quoted me £550,00. for the same work, using genuine parts. guess where I'm going. Brian.
  15. Hi Gareth, Just to clarify things. 1. The £509.00 relates to a cambelt change plus mot's for life only. 2. The £719,76. price relates to the upfront price regarding (Audi all in) ( Details can be found on the Audi website regarding this) Hope this helps Kind Regards Brian.
  16. Good Morning, I too, have been considering( Audi all in) with an upfront price of £719,76. but after reading the above post, I am not so sure, my local Audi dealer have quoted me £509.00. for a cam belt change with free mot for life. it does seem too good to be true, regarding the warranty. My car has only covered 26,000. miles since new, in the past 5 years. it does make you think, as when the car was new, it was covered by 3 years/60,000. mile warranty, anyway, this is my 12th Audi in a row, and up till now, they have all been trouble free. makes you think about spending that kind of money! Brian.
  17. Hi, You could try thread tape, it's worth a try. Brian.
  18. Hi , I have a A4 Allroad b9 2017, 190tdi engine, does anyone know if there is room to fit a space saver wheel under the boot floor, in place of the callapsible spare, many thanks Brian.
  19. Hi, If you remove one of the wheels, the part no should be stamped on the inside. hope this helps.
  20. Hi, Looking at your pictures, i think I can see the problem, they are a bit awkward to fit, you have to put the left hand end in first (it goes in at an angle) then the other end should click into place. hope this helps.
  21. Hi, has anyone replaced the fuel flap actuator on a a4 Allroad b9 2017, if so, how do you go about it, it seems that you take the plastic surround off by the filler cap, but there are clips holding it in place ??
  22. Many thanks Steve, will have a look this morning. Regards Brian.
  23. Hi, I have a A4 Allroad B9 2017, I have just noticed that the fuel flap is no not locking when the rest of the car is locked, fuel flap locking plunger is free, everything else is as normal, ??
  24. I find the best way to remove seized on wiper arms, is to. 1, remove the nut 2, squid a little wd40 round the thread. 3. put the nut back on so that it it proud of the thread I,e, only half on.thread not protruding. 4, either hold the base of the wiper arm, and pull it towards you, at the same time hit the nut with a small hammer, or if you are careful, place a small piece of wood below the arm, and apply pressure with a pryer or similar, the arm should then come off ok. p.s. works every time for me. hope this helps Brian,
