  1. So today I attacked the car to find the issue with the heater blowers.......... the temp gauge in the car has been around the mark in between 90,50 , not fluctuating just stays there steady. So I removed the thermostat housing to find the Thermostat solid with what I would think rust and crystalized anti freeze. So new thermostat and the coolant system flushed out fully I was on to a winner. Errrrrr No, all back together anti freeze and water in running it to temp, heaters still freezing cold. Pulled top pipe so far off heater matrix to let any air out, No joy, squeezing all pipes to see if full of coolant and move any air, No Joy, cut a long story short I had to remove the return pipe from the header tank and put air line blower onto the header tank fitting with the tank top on and tight and fir air down the line. Had to do this 3 or 4 times until flow of coolant through the return hose then refit the return hose to header tank the went for a run up the road. What can i say heaters have never been so warm since i`ve had it and i`ve had it nearly 10 years. Temp gauge in car still run`s below 90 but again steady. Thought I would just post this if it helps anyone else out. Regards Mark
  2. Hi Gareth No i must admit the temp has dropped slightly on the gauge since the weather conditions have got colder, but to be honest it`s kinda had the issue for a while and i`ve just normally put up with it. But the other week i fitted a new glove box to it due to the old door hinge broken so whilst i was in that area i worked all the heater functions hot, cold,re circulate, etc and watched all the motors and all change when should. Even when i worked the hot one to max i removed the arm to make sure it was going full travel and all was good. So i was beat with it then, I have seen people mention the heater matrix but did`nt want to go diving in if not needed specially when both side of the matrix in and out pipe`s seem to be warm. It really has puzzled me i did`nt know if flushing the full water system and starting fresh would change anything? Regards Mark
  3. Hi, I`m wondering if anyone can help me, I have a Audi A4 Avant 2006 1.9tdi, brilliant car had it now for about 8 years. Just coming into this winter i`ve notice the heater blowers only getting luke warm even when the engine temp is at running temp? I have had the dash to bit`s and checked all the motors are working correctly for hot\cold, direction etc and all seem to work as they should when adjusted by the climate control. Also both pipes in the heater matrix are warm one hotter than the other but not by far really. Has anyone had this situation at all?? Any help or pointers in the right direction is much appriciated. Cheers Mark
