  1. This 'knock' has come back now so I'm booking it in to my local garage at the suggestion of the warranty company. We'll see what transpires.
  2. Well. this is a bit odd. I thought I'll go out whilst the car is stone cold and test it thoroughly. Full lock going forward, then in reverse; turning left, then right; all tried when both cold & hot. And then again at differing speeds. Not a sound ! No noise whatsoever. So I'm just going to leave it in abeyance for the time being, but keeping a wary ear out all the same. I'll post back here if anything happens. Regards, Ian.
  3. Thanks for the advice Gareth. I'll have to get it booked in, and I'll let you know the outcome once it's sorted. Regards, Ian.
  4. Hi, It appears that it does do it both left & right; however, I've discovered today that it only seems to make a noise when it's cold. Regards, Ian.
  5. Gareth, I'll have to check that and get back to you. Thanks for the reply 🙂
  6. As per title - when on full lock, forward or reverse, there's a knocking from the hubs. I can't believe it's the CV joints, it's only done a careful 35000 miles. It's an S4 if that makes a difference. Any thoughts ?
  7. Hi, On my 2010 S4 all four tips are not looking 100%. I may replace them, or maybe just give them a good clean for now. Either way, getting them off first is a good way to start. I read somewhere that they just pull off, and then also just push on. I haven't tried it yet because well, it just doesn't sound right. Any pointers off anyone please ? Ian.
  8. Hi, My name's Ian (the forum name is a long story !) and I pick up my S4 saloon on Thursday. My very first Audi after all sorts of cars in the past; some ordinary, some not so. Hope to be around for a while, exchange views and banter, and maybe meet up with one or two at some point. I'm based in the north west and I'm getting on a bit in years. That's enough info for now, I can see people dropping off at the back already 😧
