    E-Tron Recall

HI Just had a message on the Audi app for a recall on my GT. It is Campaign 82C9- Replacing high-voltage heater. Just wondering if anybody else has received this. Tony
  5. Hi Paul My keyless entry is a bit hit and miss. I can never open it via keyless entry at the golf club. I am sure it is something to do with the with the wireless security cameras blocking the signal. With the key in my pocket I put my thumb on the indentation on the door handle and it opens. Mine is going in to have some minor warranty work done next month ( broken boot lock cover) they are going to give it an inspection service as well. I will let you know the cost. Tony

    Wheel Corrosion

I get the car hand washed at my local Tesco. They do a very good job, but I do ask no additives for the alloys. Tony

    Wheel Corrosion

Hi Andy Thanks for your reply. The wheels have been completely refinished by Audi under the warranty nearly a year ago now. They are now perfect. I did look at your suggestion and it sounds like a very good product, but, unsure how it would react with the lacquer that has already been put on to the wheels. As the car is still under warranty I think I will give it a miss. But, thanks anyway Tony

    E-Tron Gt Bonnet

Hi Steve Thanks for your comments. I was wondering why the threading screw holes really. Tony

    E-Tron Gt Bonnet

Hi Steve I wasn't thinking of heat dissipation as the motors and battery have a sealed for life cooling system, it was more for noise deadening as the bonnet seem a bit tinny. Tony
  11. Hi Paul My OHME charger charges at 7.4 kw. and in doing so in draws 30amp from the household system. You really ought to upgrade the house fuse to at least 80amp. Also the charger has a load compensator which monitors the load on the system, so if you have ,say, the cooker on, hob on and boiling a kettle the charger will automatically lower the load to itself until the load lowers. Tony

    E-Tron Gt Bonnet

Hi The under side of the GT's bonnet is not insulated. But there are 4 threaded screw holes strategically placed in a square for something. Is mine missing the insulation that should be there? Tony
  13. Hi Kevin I am a little disappointed with some of the trim on the E-Tron. My A6 had covers over the trinket boxes and the hidden cup holders. Still, you can't have every thing in this world. Tony
  14. Hi Caoimhin I seem to have the polar opposite to you. My E-Tron GT has rear seat cup holders set in the armrest and I hate them. I think it detracts from the supposedly luxury inside of the car. I can't see any rear seat passengers wanting to rest their arm on hard plastic for any length of time. I am having a leather cover made to fit over the armrest to hide them from site. Tony
  15. Hi I had an A6 Avant. Have you checked under the armrest as they slide out from underneath.. Tony
  16. Hi Rick A friend of mine disabled his boot swipe using his vehicle scanner. Don't ask me how, that sort of thing is way beyond my pay scale. Tony
  17. Hi Keith I have always been a bit cautious of wheel spacers. I think they put more loading on the axle bearings which they were not designed for. Also as a modification you will also have to inform your insurance company. BTW, welcome to the club. Tony
  18. Hi David Sounds like blocked jets. They need cleaning out as dirt and grit can get into them. Definitely attend to the rear washer, if that gets blocked in can blow the supply pipe off. Which means that the tailgate trim would have to be removed and that is not easy, and BTW Hello. Tony

    Electric v Petrol

That is good for your Jag. The only thing is with the closure of the M25/A3/M3 I was travelling on A and B roads for 25% of the journey and you can't just drop in to any petrol station for a top up when the battery is low.
  20. Sorry PETER. Bit tired this morning. Haven't had my first cup of tea yet. Yes it was good to meet you and I hope your trip home was uneventful. Tony
  21. Hi Took the E-Tron GT on it's first long journey yesterday to the Simply Audi Day. I did some basic calculations after the trip. I covered 211 miles only taking 205 miles from the battery and it had cost me £22.05 to fully charge the battery (291 miles with out aircon, 261 with) from 30 miles max, which gave me approx. 65 M.P.G for the journey, and I have still got 50 miles left in the battery. Which is not bad for a car of it's size and ability. Tony
  22. Steve and I enjoyed the show. But as Steve says only two of us made it.
  23. Hi to Simply Audi attendees. Just a quick note to remind you that the M25 is CLOSED this coming weekend. This affects the A3 and the M3. Traffic will be heavy on the detour routes as well. Goodwood Festival of Speed is also on in the same area. Tony
  24. I will be there. Probably at Tesco's around 8.00 ish Tony
