  1. hi Steve thanks for the reply, yes ive tried N.I and no luck,i priced it in Audi today.......537 euro! and it will need painting after that ill try ebay international and ill post any updates thanks again,Greg
  2. good evening folks,im in the process of fixing up a 2013 A5,its impossible to find a 2nd hand pass side wing here in ireland, the motor factors are saying its main dealer only(i didnt price them yet!) so im wondering if anyone on here is breaking an A5 and would be willing to send it to ireland, ive no problem paying any reasonable price but i want to avoid the main dealer my car is silver but id take a wing in any colour, ive registered with breakers here and also tried 'Find a part.ie', thanks in advance.Greg
  3. hi adrian,very nice car,i love the colour,best of luck with it.Greg
  4. i think you need to plug in the car and reset the light, thats the way it works on my 1995 coupe.Greg
  5. Happy christmas to all members and their families, enjoy the festivities and have a peaceful new year.Greg
  6. the ones Cliff has posted are the same ones i was on about ,they are very good to extract moisture in a car, definitely worth putting one or two into the boot and some in the front
  7. i think youd be better off using standard table salt,i dont think it can be dried out and reused, maybe the store is called B and M?,its called dealz here in ireland but they are an english outlet.
  8. Hi steve.the salt is a great trick,we use bowls of it everywhere in our mobile home every winter when its not in use and its amazing the amount of moisture it collects, theres also small dehumidifiers in dealz [poundland] for about 1.50 euro each and theyre brilliant for the car.
  9. this happens to all audis with rear wipers at some stage
  10. hi paul, sorry to hear about your situation and hope you get satisfaction at some stage of this whole process,i just want to commend you on the way youve gone about this from the start and you certainly deserve better treatment from audi/vw group. if its any consolation its the very same here in ireland with the way they treat customers, the brand name has really gone down the pan in the last few years.i wish you the best of luck and hopefully all the effort you put into this will pay off eventually.Greg
  11. autoglm do a very good restoration kit and its simple to use.Greg
  12. yes steve it couldve been a very expensive outcome
  13. hello everyone,im just putting this up as it may interest some people.i got the tb and wp done over a year ago on my 2016 a6 2.0 avant ultra,i sold it to my daughter {very cheaply!}about 9 months ago and last weekend she was hearing an odd noise,i checked it and could find nothing wrong so she brought it to a local mechanic whos very good with german cars{he wasnt the man who replaced the timing belt last year} he removed the tb cover to discover a small bolt had come off one of the pulleys and was flying around inside the casing,it damaged the belt badly and hes now replacing it,we were lucky it didnt get stuck between the belt and the pulley, anyway suffice to say i wont be using the original mechanic again, ive attached photos of the belt and the little bolt.Greg
  14. keep us posted as to how you get on
  15. hopefully its sorted and the smell will go away once you give it a few drives
  16. hi darragh i dont have a pic of the pipe but thats the one i changed alright,it had a hairline crack on it and the car is fine since, they are a common fault i was told by an audi mechanic,
  17. hi darragh i had the same issue on a 14 A5 and it was the pipe just under the egr valve, its shaped like a horseshoe and a pig of a pipe to change especially the 2 bolts at the back,it solved my problem tho,is this the same pipe you changed?Greg
  18. yes its a 2015 A5 2.0 tdi, that was about six months ago and the car is fine since then
  19. i think steve is right,a friend of mine had the same sympoms as you and it was the control unit that needed replacing,it was under the carpet behind the drivers seat.Greg
  20. hi chris, the only issue ive had really is water getting into the rear light fittings, which is a common fault on these, replacement bulb holders are getting very scarce too so check yours for corrosion and see what condition theyre in,make sure the waterdrains on both sides of the boot are clear of any dirt, this will allow rain water to flow away rather than sit in the boot rubber and seep into the taillight cluster.Greg
  21. welcome to the forum, lovely car,ive the same model for the last 9 years so feel free to ask any questions and ill help if i can.Greg
  22. i also have a 2014 a5,no problem except i had to replace the egr cooler,cost 450 euro inc labour,a great car to drive.Greg
  23. very nice car,the best of luck with it.Greg
