  1. Thanks Trevor - I'll see how it goes. Failed on Samsung browser (fingerprint) this morning but worked on Chrome (password)
  2. Have a look at obdeleven https://obdeleven.com/en/?gclid=Cj0KCQjw6NmHBhD2ARIsAI3hrM2gBJby8YdlQgOj-0rg0QFAe0hTAvRnlgCTnRDwWWRfGwjc6UKx_f4aAjdxEALw_wcB They offer basic apps and workshop options along with more detailed options If you have an Android phone the basic / cheapest one will do otherwise you may need the newer version. The website is pretty informative. You need credits to enable the features but they're pretty cheap and you get 1 free credit every day just by opening the app!
  3. Hi Steve - it's good to know I'm not alone! I've just logged in on a Fire tablet using Chrome first time. No such luck on my Android phone. I've tried a mac a few times and it's worked fine too (on Chrome) Weird 🤔
  4. I've had a bit of trouble logging in over the last few weeks - it's mainly when I use my phone. Normally I use the Samsung browser and fingerprint but I've also had issues with Firefox and chrome using ID and password. Each time it looks like the connection just hangs. It seems quite random and if I use an android tablet with chrome it seems to work. Not a biggie but just wondering if it's just me... Obviously if I don't reply to any reply to this it's because I can't log in! 😁
  5. It looks like the obdll is missing. Is the footlight on the centre console side of the panel {the obd is closest to the bonnet release)? Either way there should be some evidence of the connector /cables. I guess you went through something like this to get access https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=c5RuCb5DCZI
  6. Have a look here https://www.audiownersclub.com/forums/topic/18581-aux-input-in-place-of-6-cd-changer/?do=getNewComment You'll need to identify which unit you have but the Yatour unit will give you usb/aux/SD inputs and there are Bluetooth upgrade options too.
  7. Great - the only issue that you might have is where to route the Yatour unit. The glove box is the favourite 👍
  8. If you Google yatour digital music changer audi a4 You'll see the type of connector that plugs into the rear of your radio, replacing the CD changer connection. You may also find alternatives to Yatour. On some you can have a splitter and have cd and the new unit. There aren't so any around now but it should give you an idea. You can also add Bluetooth connectivity with similar kit.
  9. I doubt it's an easy swop - if your screen is embedded in the dash then the newer ones tend to be mounted like a tablet on the dash in the centre and the head unit / sat nav is in the glovebox. That means that the connections are unlikely to be like the old car radios. As with a previous poster on here, it may be better for you to ave a look at this website to identify your kit https://mca.electricmura.ro/en/blog-audi-mmi-mib-models/ It has a really good summary of the options and maybe you can find something similar that you can upgrade to. You can also then Google "your mmi model" map update and see what comes back by way of firmware and map updates.
  10. I'd say that a 1999 model is less likely to be compatible. The fact that the gov website only covers Audis back until 2001 also suggests you have a problem. Everything after 2011 is good but even if you allow for forward planning by manufacturers, 2000 is at least 2 iterations before 2011. You should probably ask your local Audi dealer.
  11. So when I rang up about 91Y7 for the phone LTE booster it seems that there is another issue possibly only on tfsi Q5s relating to possible rust risk on lower sills. They estimate 3 hours all in but I suspect that if there is a problem with bodywork finish it will be a couple of days. Anyone else heard of this 51G5?
  12. If you want to investigate further you first have to work out which MMI you have - probably 3G+ with a hard drive e (HDD). Have a look at this website https://mca.electricmura.ro/en/blog-audi-mmi-mib-models/ It has a really good summary of the options and how to identify your kit. You can then Google "your mmi model" map update and see what comes back. If you're lucky there may be versions of maps available to download onto an SD card and you can do it yourself. Either way - Waze is a better sat nav option although the maps look a bit boring!
  13. I've just had a message on the myaudi app saying I need to get recall work done under active service campaign 91Y7 - S-Activating LTE compensor for my 68 Q5 Sounds like they've maybe fixed the problem but I'd like to know what they're going to do
  14. Did you try the script via SD card? I had my 68 reg sorted through these guys https://www.makcoding.co.uk/ But it's not Google earth it's called Here https://www.here.com/navteq That might be the only way on your head unit if the green menu is not available.
  15. Have a look on this link. I'm not sure which version of MMI you have but hopefully you can get to the green menu https://upgrademyaudi.net/tutorials/google-earth-not-enough-data-in-memory/
  16. In simple terms you will pay more than you thought and get less than you expected! There is no normal so the simplest thing to do is to register with confused.com or moneysupermarket or one of the others - put in all your details and see what comes back. That will let you see the range if costs along with potential benefits such as hire cars, AA insurance, reduced excess, etc. Normally the websites offer you some sort of incentive to buy through them. If you are registered with them then your renewal process becomes very easy.
  17. There should be 2 elements. The bars and the clamps with a key to lock them in place on your roof bars.
  18. Generally as close to 87MHz or 108MHz are the 2 best options in the UK but for Melbourne Australia it looks like your radio stations atr I have the same range so they should work there too.
  19. OK - sorry I thought that a 2010 Q5 would have s/s 👍 I would still have to say that you will only get to 1st gear when driving off and when coming to a stop so maybe the gearbox isn't the problem. When it is getting down to idling revs maybe it's struggling because of timing or something similar - has it had a scan? Sorry I'm not being much help but the issue sounds strange to me - if you like the car then see what the dealer can do but be prepared to walk away 👍
