  1. Agreed. As i initially mentioned, i've never come across a vehicle that doesn't test the oil pressure lamp with ignition on, as it cycles through it's own diagnostic check. But both our kids and my car don't show this particular lamp at all during self check. There must be umpteen Audi A4 and A5, 2014 - 2017 cars (and their drivers) on this forum who maybe can check their dash, for this particular warning light. I only mention the years as those are the model years of my car, and our kids Cheers all
  2. Cheers Steve Q. I asked our kid who drives a 2014 Audi A5, and he has no oil pressure warning lamp illuminate with ignition on either. So it's a given, i think, that Audi decided in it's wisdom, not to show the warning light unless there was an issue with oil pressure. I can live with this 😁 Cheers
  3. After 4 years ownership, i only noticed recently that with ignition on, but engine off/never started, i don't get the red oil can warning (low pressure) light. All the other usual suspects illuminate as they should (engine management light, handbrake, abs, airbag, steering, brake fluid, glow plug and red triangle with exclamation ❗ mark), but no oil can symbol illuminates. Is this a quirk of the A4 B9 2.0 TDI (2017), or have i a ropey wire off the oil pressure sensor? There are no warning lamps illuminated after the car has done it's own diagnostic check, and the engine is started, they all extinguish as they should, plus OBDeleven shows no fault codes (apart from a problem with the heated and cooled cup holder - i don't have this, and i didn't know it was a thing anyway! But the code always crops up!). So, is it correct (no oil can warning light with just ignition on)? Or is something amiss, even though no faults show? I've never had a car that doesn't illuminate the low oil pressure oil can lamp with ignition on. Oil check via the mmi service check is spot on too. Maybe i'm about to answer my own question here, but could it be something to do with the oil level sensor playing a part in it(?) Cheers
  4. Had my B9 67 plate 190 tdi ultra timing belt, tensioner, ancillary belt, waterpump, oil and filter change done in November with 70500 miles on the clock. Had it done because it stripped some teeth on the M62. I felt juddering, then no acceleration, and the most evil noises!. But it still ran "ok" (oh no it didn't!) to drive it onto the back of the recovery truck. I also drove it over half a mile to the garage, sounding so incredibly tapety!! Boy, was i lucky dude, no internal damage (apparently 🤔) and it's running a dream now (as it was prior to the incident). £831 including vat/labour
  5. Although i've had the "My Audi" app for around 10 months, i've never really looked through it thoroughly, until today. It shows i have a "35" power level tdi engine, with 190ps (140kw/187bhp). Ok, but on checking Google, Audi's 35 power output equates for models with between 110 and 120kW (145 bhp and 159bhp). Is this a typo i wonder, or my Audi app making a !Removed! up of my vin number, who knows. My car is a 67 plate 2.0 tdi ultra, with twin tail pipes (unsure if twin tail pipes equates to anything, as i have seen single tail pipe 67 plate cars too). I'm not losing sleep over it 😀, but i am curious. Make no mistake, it's very possible i've misunderstood the the power numbers and their meanings. Regardless, the car has been faultless in my 10 months of ownership .... apart from the clutch pedal/clutch rod plastic connector thingy, but i'm happy to say that has been fine since our kid refitted it. Cheers
  6. All sorted. The plastic tube goes through a hole in the clutch pedal, then through the master cylinder rod and into the the other side of the pedal, then twist and lock. The cylinder rod is then secured to the pedal. Not the best of ideas, and i'm gonna assume it'll fall out again. Possibly a soon to be common issue, as there are a couple of posts about this. Also, it helps to be a contortionist and slim, which I'm neither 😄, so a big thanks to my Bro for damaging his rib cage!👍 No trim was removed, and it was fixed by way of feel, as not much could be seen behind the trim. As for returning the car to the dealer, you're absolutely right, but i purchased the car from Peterborough, so didn't fancy traipsing 130 odd miles, for a small tube type connection fix ..... with my clutch plunger/rod not connected to the clutch pedal. Thanks for the reply guys 👍
  7. Hi everyone I've only just introduced myself, and already a question. Only owned my B9 A4 (2017) for 24 hours, but out of the blue, my clutch pedal went around 2 inches higher than the other 2 pedals. When i got out of the car, a beige/off white plastic tube was on the mat. I guess it's some sort of peddle stop, but from where? I briefly looked, after twisting myself to look up to the pedal, but couldn't immediately see where it's broken or worked loose from. Any ideas guys? I have no trouble changing gear, but the pedal is a proper nuisance being so high. Thanks
  8. Hi all, Thought I'd say hello. Just joined after only owning my B9 A4 190 tdi s line ultra for 24 hours :) Sold my Mazda 3 MPS aero to grab the Audi. Adjusting to the driving difference, but i'm getting there, and a definite bonus is, i don't have to search out a Tesco Momentum or Shell v power petrol station (or fill up X amount of times a week!) for 99 octane fuel. Cheers
