  1. “quality of a chinese part vs a genuine Audi part.” Given that we’re all here having had to replace a quality Audi part after 3-4 years almost says it all!
  2. I’ve been using this for a while: Gummi Pflege is the ideal Summer and Winter protection for your cars rubber. Apply to rubber seals and prevent frost, UV damage, and cracking which will help your door and window seals in prime condition. https://youtu.be/1TXP2F4CDrA
  3. Personally, I would agree regarding after market parts, but mainly due to my own experience of using a .co.uk online company, which turned out to be overseas. After waiting weeks ithe part didn’t arrive and I end up going to the dealer. If I’d continued to drive I could’ve damaged the ABS unit.
  4. Admin, Is it possible to create a “sticky” including details of the correct part number, the excellent video showing how easy it is to replace the part, you don’t need to go to a dealer unless it’s a warranty claim, and finally, a warning not to drive the car further than necessary, regardless of the dashboard warning? Many thanks.
  5. Sadly, I guess we won’t know for 3-4 years whether the B version or the eBay cheapies are any good, as it seemed to take the OEM ones that length of time to fail. I suspect Audi did a cost benefit analysis and decided that dealer labour prices to replace a £75 part probably wasn’t worth it, given that the dash warning alerts users to the fault. That warning may be misleading, but most of us have heeded it and swapped the sensor - thanks mainly to this kind of forum.
  6. There are a few videos and fitting guides in this thread.
  7. Did the AA fix and then clear the faults? Did you drive with the brake warning on?
  8. Hi, you may be right, but the common link I believe is that the affected vehicles all appear to be MY16-18, so is it a bad batch/manufacturer?
  9. Did you try a Google search? Not sure what MY this YouTube vid is but I think it has the basics.
  10. Have to support the previous contributors, unless you feel it’s too difficult, buy a genuine Audi part and fit yourself. In my experience, don’t be tempted to buy the part online.
  11. Sorry to read the warning hasn’t gone away and hope it isn’t the ABS unit. However, I’m surprised you drove for so long with the fault as I found the brakes pulsed, like the ABS was kicking, when I had the problem?
  12. Well done for highlighting this to Audi UK. Hopefully they will take the problem seriously, although it’s a relatively cheap part and an easy DIY fix, parts shouldn’t fail after 3 years or cause ABS failure.
  13. To paraphrase Mandy Rice Davies “They would say that, wouldn’t they!”
  14. I tried Autodoc, but when it still hadn’t shipped after 10 days I cancelled and drove to the dealer, fixed in 90 minutes .
  15. Out of interest, how long did it take for the part to arrive?
  16. I have just had the above warning appear on my A5 MY17 2.0 TFSI, with advice that you can continue to drive the car. Luckily, I came across this lengthy thread on the A4 forum which I feel is worth linking, as the fix is simple and the consequences of continuing to drive could be expensive. The fault caused by the brake servo sensor seems to be mainly in the MY17. I also mentioned in the thread to avoid some online .co.uk parts companies that are actually based in Germany and seem take forever to dispatch orders. https://www.audiownersclub.com/forums/topic/13415-brake-servo-restricted/
  17. I have an A5 MY17, however, same fault and warnings. Luckily, I read this thread and didn’t drive the car. In short, it took 90 mins to pick up a new sensor from a main dealer, drive home and fit. Very easy 5 min job, fixed the problem straight away. AVOID ordering from some online .co.uk parts companies, they all appear to be in Germany. I did initially, the part was showing in stock and I ordered. After a week I inquired if they had been sent yet only to be told it was still awaiting dispatch, so I cancelled the order.
