  1. Hi all, Last week, my Audi A3 8V 2015 1.4 TFSI started to develop a noticeable ticking sound in the engine area. The car always have a ticking sound, but this time it appears to be more noticeable particularly in the cabin. Please see video link of the issue: The car had done 44700 miles and has been maintain in Audi dealership from new. I believe is the cam belt need replacing, however would like to hear what you guys think it could be. It would cost around 800 pounds to replace the cam belt in Audi dealership with lifetime MOT. Independent Audi specialist would cost approx. 500 pounds. It would be greatly appreciated to hear you thoughts on the above. Many thanks, Ambrose
  2. Hi all, Two days ago, I was driving from London to Cardiff and noticed an unusual humming noise as the car speeds up. It can be heard from 25 mph+ and it becomes louder as it speeds up. The engine and transmission seems to be ok as I have tried higher rev and different gears, but the sound is still there and not change. I have brought it to a local Audi specialist and they have diagnosed to be a front wheel bearing issue. The local Audi specialist will charge around 220 pounds and I'm waiting for a quote from main Audi dealership. Anyone had the same issue before and also what would you go for? Local specialist or Main Dealer? It seems a bit strange that part has failed as my Audi A4 16 plate only have 40000 miles. But I did recall hitting a pothole along M25, may be that caused it to fail. Appreciate for all your help. Ambrose
  3. That's great news. I didn't disconnect the battery to replace the sensor. Ambrose
  4. Hi Caccoke, Unfortunately, it would costs further damage to the ABS unit if you continue to drive. But don't cancel your holiday yet. They may sometime have it in stock as it is a common failure item. If they do, it only takes a few minutes to fix. Here is how you replace it: Let us know how it goes and I hope you don't have to cancel your holiday with your kids. Ambrose
  5. Hi Nicholas, I had the same issue stared on the 5th June 2021 and it was fixed on the 9th June 2021. The car has been driven for approx. 100 miles during this time. Based on this thread, I would suggest to get it fixed as soon as possible. To get it fixed, you will need to replace the brake servo sensor 5Q 0906207B. Here is a video I made to how to replace it: For more information, please refer to Page 9 of this thread. I hope it helps. Ambrose
  6. Hi guys, As promised, here is a short video of how to replace the Brake servo sensor of an Audi A4 B9. Not the best or clearest video, but I hope it helps. Let me know if you have any questions. Ambrose
  7. The part number is 5Q0906207B. The B is the latest version.
  8. Hi Britorean, Yes I can do a video on how to install the sensor. I'll record it & upload it this shortly. Ambrose
  9. Hi all, I had the same issue where the brake servo and stop start error appeared. After reading this helpful thread, I thought I would do my part to help out too. 🙂 Issue stared on the 5th June 2021 and it was fixed on the 9th June 2021. The car has been driven for approx. 100 miles during this time. I've called up Cardiff Audi and fortunately they have one sensor left in stock. Please note that 5Q 0906207, 5Q 0906207A, 5Q 0906207B are all cross compatible as confirmed by Audi parts department. But of course best to get the latest B version if available. Please note VW, Seat & Sokda all share the same part and I've checked with my local dealerships and they are all the same price £79.60. I've managed to get it down to £76 at Cardiff Audi. If unavailable, usually you can order it and it takes a day to arrive if ordered by mid-day. Installation will take less than 5 mins if you are unfamiliar with the car. I have enclosed a print screen of the Audi A4 Shop manual. Link are here: https://cardiagn.com/audi-a4-b9-8w-brake-system/ Page 146. I can do a simple video to demonstrate this if anyone wanted. One thing to be noted is when you unplugged the sensor, some pressure will be released from the hole. I've asked Cardiff Audi whether this falls part of the recall part and they said no. But they've done a few of these jobs and knew about the issue. I hope the above helps. Kind regards, Ambrose
