Haven't been on for abit due to work and other things so started on the valves clean and cutting back in new stems are on putting the keepers are a pain to put back on got 12 days off so should put a good dent in it and if all goes to plan engine should go back in

Take to someone with vcds tell them what's happening with her and you want a adaption and realignment done on the throttle body that should sort it out takes about 10 minutes with a vcds that sort out the right air and fuel mixture sure there was a guy on YouTube that had the same problem but with a vw

You could also try wait until the car starts idleling pull the plugs one by one conect the coil plug and check the spark see if it's strong if it is move on to the next one and so on if thay are all good the you ruled out coils, coils wiring,and plugs

Hi bud I'm not sure on your car but my s5 got 3 big leads down by the alternator on the main frame 2 of witch is together and one on its own by the engine mount

Try giving all the ground leads a good clean, especially if your not getting any codes up

If your going too check the pcv just take the oil filler cap off see if that make a difference she may be on its way out normally you get a whistling sound after a while, if no difference I'll be more looking at coil plugs and the wireing spark plugs as the car starts fine but once warm it goes lumpy

So come too a stop for the moment ordered so stuff wet and dry 800,1000,1500, another torque wrench as can't fined the small one and a full timing chain kit ouch

Not much done today removed 3 studs off the exhaust as thay snapped easy enough job and found a little bit of carbon cleaner so started on cleaning the valve still not finished but it's looking good

Not done much today only started doing the valve stem seals putting the collars back on ant as easy as it looks

Engine out and broken down timing chain tensioner top left and top right got broken runner on the ends so need replacing rest are in very good condition had too order a new valve springs remover as mine to big to do the seals, mainly doing cleaning for now and leaving the cats and headers in a cleaner solution 20221012_114313.mp4

So removed all gearbox bolts hoses and starter motor and both engine mounts the engine move a tad not much and seems to have stopped coming out have I mist something or is it a case of use brutal force

Sorry don't what I did here did put my wipers don't work if my bonnet is up or open

Just put my fingers up as far as thay would go and there a lot of oil residual up there so I'm thinking def headgasket due to the small leak, and valve stem seals and as I'm there regasket the timing chain covers and bottom seal 20220515_103214.mp4

Iv just started her up blimey, smoke a understatement but did see a small leak from the headgasket by cylinder 6 but the smoke did calm down until she got upto temp and started too get thick again and the left exhaust started popping 20220515_094216.mp4 20220515_093246.mp4 489918011_received_3717872083189484.mp4

I'll see if I can, iv just done a compression test on it 1=151psi, 2=153, 3=141, 4=150,5=145.5, 6=137.5, 7=160, 8=153

Hi Gareth I'd love to take her on a 20 mile run but she got no m.o.t when you rev it round 2000 revs it get really thick and you can hear crackling from the right exhaust like water going on a oven hob after it's been on
