  1. Hi Guys, I have read that others have had a similar issue with their A4 TDI Avant S Tronic hesitating when pulling away from a junction or joining a roundabout etc. Has anyone ever had it fixed? I have this issue and it is currently with Audi Poole for them to look at it. I have had this Approved Used, 43k mileage car a month now and they know I will reject it if they don't fix it. I like the car and just want it fixed.
  2. Sorted. Age thing. it was just charging up.
  3. Hi Guys, Just wired in a Nextbase dash cam into my Avant. I piggy backed it on to the sockets fuse, like I have done with other cars but this is the first time that the blue light on the dash cam has stayed on when I turn the engine off. I don't want to flatten the battery when I go on holiday etc so I have removed it for now. Any clues what this old guy is doing wrong?
  4. Stevey/Mark: Thanks for your replies but it seems like we were all out of touch with the latest complicated invention in the Audi world. We live and learn.
  5. Hi Jason, Thank you very much for this. I really found it hard to believe and was prepared to do battle with the dealership over it. Every day is a school day........
  6. Hi Guys, I have swapped my 2017 A4 Avant for a 2021 Q3 and after driving from the dealership in light rain, my headlights steamed up. The dealership says that this is mentioned in the handbook and perfectly normal. They never mention this at the time of sale or I would not have entertained it. The sales guy said that there is a fan in the headlights that will clear it quickly but it cleared next morning. Is this normal or even acceptable? Never seen or heard of such a thing in my 50 years of car ownership. I asked about swapping the car for something else but they haven't even responded in a week to 2 emails.
  7. Thanks guys. I already have piggy backs but no tracker yet. I will give this more thought as the Trutrak was recommended and looked a decent price and easy to fit. They even do one via the OBD port but that is too obvious a place to put it. I will have a re-think and consider different modes to see what is best for me. Thanks again. Regards Gordon McKay
  8. Ta. That would be where I will look first. I guess I am old school and used to working on cars when electronic ignition was the latest thing and the thought of messing it up due to the sensitive nature of 2017 Audi electronics is holding me back a bit. Thanks again for the heads up.
  9. Thanks. I did think of that source too but I would prefer the fusebox route if it is easy. These cars are so sensitive nowadays that I didn't want to chuff it up.
  10. Hi guys, Question time again...... I was thinking of fitting a tracker to my car (Trutrak) and have a few questions regarding this: Has anyone here fitted one? If so, any problems? Does disconnecting and reconnecting the battery cause any problems? ECU reset etc. Where can I find a permanently live feed with easy access? I was thinking about making the cigarette lighter live and using the feed from that. Grateful for any info.
  11. It certainly helped me thanks to you guys on this forum. I haven't had to fit a sensor yet but I bought one to keep in the car in case the dreaded warning comes up.
  12. No warnings since I bought it. It has been to Audi and they didn't find anything wrong (of course they didn't), but they did change the battery. They are now aware that I mentioned that there was something wrong and it is documented. Can't do much else if nothing is shown to be wrong. Until the next time....... I might just change the sensor myself now as a preventative measure.
  13. Just thought I would mention that I have just under 2 year Audi warranty left so hopefully that would cover any bill. I have just done another 500+ miles in it and the pedal still is hard to press now and then. I bought my sensor at the german parts for sale on EBay for 19.99. Next day delivery. Made me feel a bit more confident in the car.
  14. My brake servo problem still exists yet no message but I can start it by pressing harder on the brake pedal - yes, that's what Audi said - so I have just bought a sensor in case I get the dreaded message ...... Being such a common problem, you would think that a hi-tech car manufacturer with "quality" products would have eradicated this issue by now.
  15. Hi Gareth, I understand your views on this and normally I would tell Audi where to go but I am used to pressing a bit harder on the brake pedal to start it. It actually does start ok since the battery was changed so I will soldier on. Audi have acknowledge that I have had problems with it and offered to take it back now for a complete refund or later (for a reduced rate). I am fine with that for now. If it really chuffs me off, I will get rid, Meanwhile I will crack on.
