  1. Thank you steve I will certainly try the Phillips bulbs first on the DRL side to see if that improves things. The kit from holland does look really good so fingers crossed that works and finally the indicator bulbs. If that all fails, then once I have finished crying I will source some bi-xenon headlights and go through the painful process of coding etc. Just wondred if any members on here had done the former or the latter
  2. Afternoon all, perhaps you lot can help My headlights are a bit dim and frankly pants. They are the standard factory Halogen version ( see pictured) So I have a warm white DRL with two bulbs, one running llights ( side beam) and the other bulb seems to work in conjunction with the mail light when on full beam. Main light seems to be a whiter white but again Halogen. And finally the fried egg look that is the indicator but bizzarly is also on when you turn on main lights...really weird. So my plan was to upgrade them all and I thought I had cracked it when I saw a video from EM Tuning where they have a wiring harness that turns the double bulb setup in the DRL to a single brighter bulb. Sadly that only works on Bi-Xenon which I dont have. This kit https://www.emtuning.co.uk/product/em-tuning-drl-sidelight-kit-audi-a4-s4-rs4-b7/ So thought, no worries will get the Bi-Xenon upgrade kit from holland which would provide this https://retrofitlab.com/collections/audi-a4-b7/products/audi-a4-b7-2005-2008-bi-xenon-halogen-headlights But it turns whilst I can do this upgrade because the DRL is controlled separately then it work together. The side light bulbs I can fix by removing the orange lens and fitting in a chrome bulb. So that leaves me with two sections of the light nice and bright and whiter but this annoying warm white and dim DRL So wondering if anyone has pulled this trick off , had to resort to swapping the entire assembly or just gave up because it was juts too much hassle ? thanks
  3. You are correct, I mis-read your intial post as the ones on the side are indeed on the trim
  4. Hi adrian i am sure rob will be along shortly as he know far better than me but on all the ones I have seen it is either or not both on the front grill so s line bottom left as you look at the front or Quattro as to the back then normally as you said it a4 on the left , litre and model on the right and on the right of the bumper a small Quattro badge but at the end of the day it is up to you how you do it personal choice I say
  5. You may laugh and say this is by design but just noticed that if I have my fogs on and turn to full beam the fogs turn off is that right ?
  6. I belive it is an absolute minefield of codes . On your sticker in the service manual and in the wheel well in the boot should be something like this Mine says QP which for the life of me I cant find an exact match . However yours may be easier to find. Part of the code relates to the interior trim and the other code relates to the seat colour. Mine is two tone, black and grey whilst my trim is all black. Hopefully that helps you
  7. Oh yes I did see those bumpers and immediately dismiss them as a) US imports and b) the cost. dear god, I think for something that could potentially be a third of the cost of the entire car I will just make do with what I have !! Rather spend my hard earned on the forth coming service costs, maintenance etc. I have pretty got through half of my list so far 🙂
  8. I haven’t but the idea does sound good as you say would break up the phantom black
  9. Tha k you for all your comments as always rob and in the future I will see what bumper would work out of interest what bumper is pictured and who makes it ?
  10. When I picked up the car a few weeks ago, I knew there was a long list of things I needed to do to get it how I wanted it . One of the things that bugged me ( apart from the tonka toy ride height via the wrong wheels ) was the front bumper. I did like it but in I discovered whilst it 'looked ' like an RS4 bumbper, it was in fact a replica. To be fair it has been painted well, the fogs work and it is a good fit but as you did deeper you can see small things that could be improved. So in a search for a front lip spoiler I came across a myriad of spoilers, some terrible ebay specials and knockoff's. I found TRC who do a fab version , alas it is pattern matched to the RS4 bumper which is obviously a different shape at the sides and middle but I thought with a bit of fettling I could make it work so it arrived the other day and I got to fitting it. This is the car before The fittings they supplied were superb and it is predrilled. Using mainly bolts I got the spoiler fixed on the sides and then wondered how to fit the middle as there was a gap. But using a little bit of ingenuity used long bolts and black silicon hose as spacers and looks almost factory 🙂 So here it is all done. May not be to everyone's taste which is fair but I personally love it . oh and also did my pressed plates at the same time
  11. damn that looks bad, so annoying isnt it
  12. I used to be a big fan of their stuff, had the same holder in my car for years but they seem to have waned of recent . I have been looking for a replacement that wasnt in the air vent but very few to choose from. You have to look at what you need in terms of connection ( cable, bluetooth, i.e do you need to be plugged in for apple car play ) , what phone you have etc
  13. Can you believe it, one day in with the new wheels and notice that the steering was pulling to the left around 200 yards down the road. Stop and investigate and yes a !Removed! massive nail/bolt/screw in the tyre..typical. 😒 luckily I have that full size spare so swapped it over and as it is in the middle of the tread, my son works in a garage and he said he can repair it no problem.
  14. unless you mean mud guards/plastic thingys which are obviously different 🙂
  15. Yes sir. Go nowhere else but these guys https://www.rallyflapz.co.uk All SS fixings and any colour you want I have a full set on my subaru impreza
  16. Your 8 years bests my 8 days lol
  17. I had thought about that but I thought that only a 5mm spacer would not need longer bolts but anything thicker would you seem to think I should err on the side of caution
  18. Rob, like I said you are a fountain of knowledge. You beat Google 🙂 thank you
  19. Just swapped my wheels and selling these but I cant quite place them as to what they. I have a part number inside which is : 4H0601025 R They are 9Jx19H2 ET32 Googling seems to bring up A5 and similar. Just want to make sure when I sell them I make an accurate description, nothing worse selling something that they are not ! Thanks
  20. Shallow 🙂
  21. Ohhhhhh I love your front splitter there is much want here !!!
  22. Ah now I know what you mean when I look at the car I personally love them but then I am an Audi novice so don’t know any better 🙂
  23. S4 Blades, sorry you lost me there Glad you like the result and yes I think a tad lower will do the trick
