  1. Yes today was wheels day 🙂 When I got the car I could see the wheels were all wrong. They were 255/40/19 and just made the car look wrong. Rubbed on the arches when 4 up or over bumpe, stuck out too far ( no spacers ) and well, just wrong. Dont get me wrong, on the right car they may look brilliant but just not mine. So found a set of Le Mans 235/40/18 on Gumtree and were recently refurbished and decent tyres. So struck and deal and they came from scotland today. Bonus. 5 so I have a full size spare 🙂They arrived in perfect condition as he wrapped them so well All unwrapped Little and large Put 5mm spacers on the back just to bring them out ever so slightly all done and I think they look great. Ride is perfect and no rubbing ! In time I may look to lower the car maybe by 10/20mm with different suspension but right now I am just enjoying them .
  2. I do have my options codes but nothing lists puddle lights or anything remotely to do with footwell lighting (convenience) I do have OBDeleven Pro so will give it another scan and see if anything shows up. Good shout as wasnt sure what fuses were what as the board didnt list that.
  3. yes that is my thought. I will see if I can find some whizzkid 🙂
  4. ah that is where the issue lies as these are not normal bulbs so I have a sneaky feeling that the bulb holders have been changed. But that still dosent explain why putting in a working bulb ( from puddle light-same design) still is dead. I cant have all four dead bulbs , the glove box light works etc and as I say, the fuse is fine. I just cant see where they are wired to investigate
  5. just out of interest does anyone know where the plugs are for these lights. is it under the drivers or passenger seat ?
  6. Following on from some shockingly bad reading light upgrades which meant I had to source new bulbs for the interior, I now have an issue with the footwell lights and bulbs. There are four as far as I can see, front passenger and driver and two at the rear under the seats. I know they are all linked to a 5amp fuse ( position 2 in the fuse box in drivers side board) I have pried off all four and can see they have some form of LED bulb in there with a flat blade design. The same design of bulb that is in the puddle lights on all doors. So the problem. None of them work. Troubleshooting I have done. 1. Replaced the 5AMP fuse with a brand new one 2. Swapped the bulbs from puddle lights with footwell lights and swapped polarity in case that was an issue. So as far as I can see the holders, wiring and bulbs are there but it makes me wonder if somehow they are not connected to the main loom so hence swapping the fuse will make no difference ? or is it they are there but not programmed so more like an option ? seems odd that everything is intact yet not working. Any advice would be welcome .
  7. Dont worry managed to work it out in the end . Thanks for looking though
  8. I had seen that site on audisport forum I think but it looks like some mad coding file which my brain went “huh”
  9. Has this forum got a section for understanding option codes from my Owners Service book. Just interested in what I have . I did a search but sorry couldnt find anything
  10. Thanks Rob. I will pick out those broken bulbs and replace them with the correct ones and check this hasnt been done in the rear lights. and check the fuse just in case. I made the mistake of doing something similar on our porsche cayenne in a moment of madness , replaced all the factory bulbs with nice shiny LED ones and loads of flickered and blew so back to factory they went. You live and learn 🙂
  11. Oh does anyone know what bulb is meant to be in there in terms of part code ?
  12. Cheers guess the fuses are in the left hand side like Porsche in the dash ?
  13. I seem to have an issue with the reading lights front and back none of them work and when I took them out they were sparking ! never seen ones like this before It seems to have left behind a round metal tube are they the same in the rear ? me thinks previous owner did one of those ultra bright kit upgrade and it has buggered it up
  14. Ok thanks for that
  15. When I was researching the car I was looking at, I spent a long time reading into the common issues and preventative maintenance so when I went to buy the car I had a list of things I needed to check. Oil level was one of them and I have heard they can be heavy on oil so this will be a regular check for me. Again this was on my list to see if the cam follower had been changed. As I cant see any evidence in the paperwork I will assume not so I will be doing this myself very shortly. The other things I had on my list were Divertors valves - renewed Revison D. I cant see any paperwork so will see if they have been replaced Tensioner- rattle at idle. I cant hear anything so looks all good. My next service is due in 4000 miles so I am just finding a good Audi garage near me who could give the car its next service.
  16. That looks lovely mate , very tidy
  17. Well they will be doing that so they can struggle 🙂
  18. Sadly after initial investigation, it looks like the previous owner didnt do anything with the suspension which is a shame . Looks entirely standard to me. So as the wheels were off I couldnt resist cleaning 🙂 no before shots at this time
  19. Now there is a man who is a fan of Carbon fibre 🙂 Little update on my ICE. Just popped up to a company local to me and discovered the reason behind the tuner and DAB issue. Turns out the tuner has a poor reception because the window tint on the rear screen is blocking the aeriel ...doh! So as the alternative is a shark fin on the roof I will just live with the poor reception The DAB now works as it needed was a factory reset and all good. At the same time we discovered that the reversing camera works but needs installing so booked in for that install. A nice bonus as it was just sitting in the boot coiled up.
  20. My bad they are 40 and not 35 so happy days
  21. thank you Rob appreciate it. That reference website that has all the parts is a godsend
  22. I think I found the correct ones ?
  23. That is all beyond me in terms of expertise. You on the other hand seem very knowledgable ! my guess is the previous owner removed the factory unit ( I can see the handbook for it ) and just plonked in the Sony unit to get Bluetooth connectivity and the Apple Car play functions. That unit also came with a reversing camera which funniliy enough is sitting in the boot and coiled up so never used 🙂
