Last thing I need with MOT on Friday sounds a big job

Hi my left rear side light is saying it’s out on the dash when starting the car up or turning lights to side lights it comes in initially for 30 seconds then goes off changed bulbs but they both done the same could it be the plug that goes into the back of the light unit thanks
