  1. My post here will most likely fix this issue:-
  2. Hi Jack, did you get to the bottom of this? Mine is doing exactly the same and it’s driving me nuts. I’ve replaced discs and pads all round, new from calipers and flexi hoses and a brand new OEM master cylinder and it’s still doing it. Front drivers side (uk). Also found similar ref brake pad wear front near side I had 10mm plus of meat on the pads and maybe a 1mm lip on the disc, off side pads were down to 4/5mm and disc was heavily worn. Rears seemed to be wearing evenly and loads of life in them but I changed them anyway, now running brembo discs and pads all round.
  3. Auto locking is when the car locks the doors when you get to 10mph(ish) pressing the button twice to unlock all the other doors is part of the coding in VCDS and can be recoded. The door lock crud issue is when all or some of the other doors won’t unlock at all.
  4. Evening all, I’ve had my B8 Avant for around 8-9 years now and had issues with the front drivers side calliper binding a couple of times over the years, strip and rebuild usually sorts it out for a couple of years but not this time. I’ve fitted brand new front callipers, carriers, guide pins and hoses. New brembo discs and pads all round and a new genuine OEM TSW master cylinder. Full VCDS ABS bleed and the drivers front calliper still sticks. It makes a noticeable rubbing noise between 10 and 30 mph and it’s driving me up the wall. No ABS faults, pedal feel is spot on and breaking efficiency is on the money. Flew through an MOT today and the MOT tech was stumped at what else could be causing it. Any ideas? Cheers, mark.
  5. Old post I know, however this may help someone out in the future. My avant does this every couple of years, one of the doors will play up and not unlock with the fob, lean through and pull the internal handle and then it’ll open from the exterior handle. Turns out that the lock/unlock motors in the locking mechanism get carboned up and stop working. Strip them down, clean the motor armatures with some meths and a scotch pad and they work for another couple years. Pics attached.
