The actual pump is covered by a moulded shroud just behind the spare wheel carrier underneath the car.
-
Be aware the pump is controlled by an orange 40a fuse it's in a bank of 4 to the right of the relay...check theses as one may be blown...you may be fortunate it may be a knackered relay .

Yes ...in the boot on your right ..if you remove the shrouding /netting with a flat blade or even a two pence twist it 90 degrees and it pulls out. The holding plastic screw is up on the top ..inside above the netting .. if you feel for it you'll find the securing screw .

Use a good jack to gain good height access and obviously a few axle stands...take your time it's relatively straight forward...change the relay aswell in the rear right arch area... One comes with the pump but it looks a poor copy...audio main dealers sell them.

Pump bought from aerosus Germany...arrived in 3 days...
-
Hi I. Did it last month...2.5 hr job relatieaay if your ok with spanners etc. Dan

Hi Gareth Thanks for asking...it was the air pump. I ordered it from aerosus and it came in two days. I went through everything else and by default it must be the pump and it was. Funny you should now ask because it's been driving about fine for 8 days then when my wife went out the back went down and not the front. I've just been out there and changed the blown 40a fuse which has never blown before.....I disconnected the battery and it worked again after cleared codes. I can't hear any air leaks and it's been sat fine for over a week...the mind boggles. Anyway I've left it in jacking mode on Allroad height and will see if it drops at all. I was thinking if buying two new air bags as that is only what else it can be ordered bad unions at the connecting point. I'll keep you posted but nothing seems to suggest an audible leak. Regards Dan.....I'm grateful though the new pump is fine....maybe the fuse was in its way out. One thing I've noticed though when it was sat low in all four corners for a week once it's back up high the back does feel less giving and more harder.

Ill look tmrw afternoon if is there that's a bonus. Audi tech didn't think it was but it'll save me some work if it's just gone. Thanks Dan

Ok so the codes were mainly level codes which I expected but there was two an overheating code and a code for a leak on or near the acumilater? Dan
-
I'll get under the car once the weather is more forgiving.
-
Ok so I've looked at all bags and no obvious tears. Unfortunately as there is no air at all can't check for leaks. I'll get under the car soon and check for lower etc but the relay and fuse which I believe are for the pump have tested fine.. Hopefully it's the pump and or power issues. The reason why I think it's the pump as I had residual air in the air tank in the boot for a day or two and no leaks were heard. Anyway I'll keep you posted. I haven't had a reply from bag pipe Andy. Is there a number for him? Regards Dan

I'll keep you posted. Dan...hoping it's something simple

Think I may buy a new compressor..any good places to purchase from? Regards Dan
-
Hi all I had the codes read to this morning and it says an air leak. I can't hear one although the compressor isn't running. Would the compressor turn off due to an air leak? What if it's the compressor at fault? Where's the relay for the compressor? Kind regards Dan
-
Ok thanks
-
Will do... hopefully something simple. I will check the other 3 headlight level sensor arms aswell.
-
I'll also check the relay although I've never known relays to go. It's in the rear right wheel arch I believe.
-
Thanks I'll get codes read tmrw Dan

Evening all The Allroad has an issue with it's suspension. It's slammed in the floor for no reason today and I need to find the location of the fuse and relay for the compressor I can't hear anything running I've replaced an airbag last year due to a broken rear headlight level sensor and was wondering would another one cause all 4 corners to drop? Regards Dan
-
Hi all the car is done. I just changed the arm and the car recalibrated itself and all is well. the airbag was a fiddle at the base as its on an angle and the circle edge that proceeds through the lower trailing arm isn’t as proud as the original but the locator plastic nipple and the two plastic edge clips which hold it in place was ok. im happy it’s done. I did the offside rear arm as well as it was mega stiff . It is lubed up moves freely. pill check the fronts tmrw. thanks all for helpful advice, dan

Attempting this job tmrw morning will get back to you all. I won’t renew the sensor just the arm as I haven’t got the ability to reset the height settings. hooefully the level sensor is fine. regards d
